    Good Morning everyone.

I'll plan it soon. I would definitely be sure that you're home and didn't have any plans for the day, I wouldn't just drop in unexpected.

I haven't made it to the wing place yet.

I really want to get a set of gold/bronze Methods for my truck, but I gotta look up the weight difference. I already lost 2-3mph with just some larger, heavier tires. I might be back to 3rd gen mileage after all is said and done.

Truck said 22.9 on the way home from work yesterday. I know last year around the same weather it would be 25-26. Oh well :pout:

I know my '22 TRD with the 6MT would get 19-20 on a good day. But, I would usually use some RPM's :anonymous:

Some sacrifices must be made for looks! Nothing wrong with that. If your commute is on the shorter side, it shouldn’t mean much.
I’d be curious to see the weight difference.

I suggested to my wife about getting a 25 Tacoma (or 4R) since it would have 2x better gas mileage than my truck. She said that wasn’t a good idea either, since I’d want bigger tires

37ish mile commute round trip so not bad. I take the Camry to work in the Spring and Summer a lot anyways so it doesn't matter too much. I've gotten 40+mpg out of that thing. o_O

I’ve been toying around with the idea of bronze wheels too. I think it looks so good with a black truck.

I have no idea, but these have tripped my trigger for some reason

    https://www.methodracewheels.com/collections/all/products/320-method-bronze?variant=40572363669565

I probably won't do it for a while, I do not need to whip out that credit card willy nilly again

Been doing OT at work so I'm putting that up and waiting to see if they follow through putting me in for promotion that I won't know if it'll be approved until October. These home improvements have been killing my savings recently

That’s great. I found a nice used one that might work out as a good commuter. I don’t want to finance a used car but that’s probably the best option right now.

I love my bronze wheels. They are not the bright shiny bronze though, they would look good too.

It's a great commuter car. I want to say we picked it up for $25K in December '23 with 32Kish miles on it. Was an ex Avis rental car, but wasn't in too bad of shape.

Nice! I see one at a local dealer, 2021 with 48k miles for 24k that looks in good shape.

Damn, they've kept their value. Ours is a '23. I don't think we've put 5K miles on it yet

Super easy to change the oil on. Has a spin on oil filter as opposed to the cartridge system the previous gen has. Takes the same oil filter as my 4th gen so easy to keep filters in stock. I run 0w20 over the recommended 0w16. Direct injection does a little diluting to the oil so I like a buffer.

Yes, I have the puller. I use a bearing race/seal driver to install the EGCS after getting ti started with a few light taps. To put the new seal in I've found that a 2" PVC pipe coupling driven by my bearing race/seal driver does a good job of setting the seal in place. Biggest pia of the whole job can be getting the half-shaft to pop out of the diff. Always do a fluid change while you're at it (make sure you have the washers for the drain and fill plugs).

That drain plug on the front diff is also one tight mofo! Even if you don't have corrosion you'll wind up popping up a hemorrhoid getting that thing loose

I think the prices went back up, the 23 and 24s are pretty pricy, in the 28k+ range.

I think there is a lot of people in a similar position as me right now and need something to commute in that makes sense. And really, a new car isn’t it but might also make the most “sense.”
