Well saw 2out of 3 tacos today 1st guy was a now show other 2 rust is eating them away .not looking good for me to stay a 1st gen guy

 

2nd Gens are not all that bad. At 63 months and 72K miles I have my first real maintenance items to do on the Tacoma.

Replace battery
Replace front brakes and rotors
Replace brake fluid
Replace drivers side rear wheel bearing

The battery and wheel bearing seem a little early. Other than this all I have had to do is replace fluids.

 

My battery crapped the bed at 14k and I got a new one from the dealer... Now this current one is leaking... Saving for a dual battery setup as of now

 

I've only done tires and front brakes. 43k in so far.

Haven't even done my plugs yet

 

Im catching up to your ass in milage... 39866 here... Gonna do plugs next month.

 

I broke 46K today


So far, just fluids, filters, and plugs. And a new engine, but that wasn't typical lol

Dealer blew it up during my first oil change at 5k

 

This is why when buying a new vehicle you tell them "take that service plan and shove it, i got this."

 

I'm surprised that you drove 5K miles in 6 weeks.

That averages to over 40K miles a year

 

The 2.7 engine calls for plugs at 120K. Maintenance calls for transmission and rear diff fluid every 30K. So far I have done this twice with Red Line oils.

I just caught a deal on Red Line oils this past Wednesday for $20 off a case so I bought 2 cases. Sort of like getting almost a free oil change over the regular cost of the oil.

 

This is some good info Tom! I thought plugs should be done in our trucks at 30-35k 120k is crazy though!

 

I plan on changing diff fluid here before winter with valvoline synthetic. Tranny can wait until I fix that damn throwout chatter
