Hey everyone. I'm being forced to research new tires as I was told Goodyear is phasing out the Duratreks... So what tires do you guys have and love and why? offroad/mud tires only please. trying to stay around the 200-250 a tire range.

I thought the Duratracs were pretty popular. Surprised to hear they're getting rid of them. I guess I'm in the same boat

That's what I was told by my local Merchants I was really surprised too so now I have 5 tires to slowly replace... Atleast I get to start with my spare. I'm thinking Mickey Thompson MTZ Steve swears by them lol the BFG Mud 2 is listed at 284 a tire so those are way out, the MTZ are listed at 233.97 on Merchants

I've heard good things about Hankook MTs and Nitto Trail Grapplers. No idea on the price off the top of my head though.

Why dont you just contact another Goodyear dealer and see if they can get you the Duratreks somebody has to have your size still available or order online

I spoke with my local Goodyear store who insisted that was a rumor.

The reason I didn't shop around is because I have road hazard on the tire through merchants. He said he will try to locate one for me the other thing is I have class E which seems to be harder to locate. Also if the tire was being discontinued I would start replacing them at this point since I'll be starting with the spare.

Sounds like they might be trying to up sell and push another tire I understand you wanting to use Merchants for your road hazard warranty but if tire us discontinuined dont know if your warranty would really be of any use except maybe to prorate you on different tires, good luck I have the General grabbers load e and love them so far

Yea the guy I spoke with today at merchants didn't have any information for me and was able to order an e rated one with no problem. The road hazard was for the pro rated saved me $123. If they do get discontinued I'll deal with it at that point. For now I'll be still using the duratrac I've grown to love Lol

Got the new rims put on. Now I have 4.25" bs and that sexy wide stance. Wheelers no longer carries 4" or 4.5" they are only given 4.25 from procomp now.
