The main issue in the US with a diesel engine is emissions. Diesels by law are required to have a Urea system on board for emissions, and the stuff is super corrosive and expensive. stack that on top of $5-6 per gallon fuel, and gasoline becomes much cheaper. the whole reason that diesels are everywhere in other countries is that diesel is cheaper over there and the emissions standards are much more lax, so they don't have to mess with the Urea

Diesels are nice if you need them 3/4 or 1 ton. If they sold a decent half ton or a mid-size I'd be interested. The new Colorado dmax has caught my attention but I doubt they will offer a manual an I'm worried on what tranny they will back it with. Nissan is bringing out a Titan with a Cummins and Dodge have the ecodiesel for halfton trucks. Now I do know Cummins was working on I think a 2.8 4 banger who know what that will go in Frontier maybe who know but the diesel power grabs my attention. The motors last forever with normal maintance but maintance cost a little more than a gas job. Mileage wise they do better than a gas motor but the new emissions hurt the milage the new motors are getting. Diesels aren't about high HP numbers mainly torque numbers. But I would like to pick one up at some point I'd like to see a diesel Tacoma but will see

Sometimes i think i should have. the dealer i bought my truck from had two Tacomas. an 08 V6 Manual ACLB in black, and an 07 V6 Automatic DCLB in Navy Blue.... decided i wanted the auto, as at the time i was still fighting my ADHD and didn't think i could multitask enough to manage the transmission and drive at the same time..... i kinda regret not getting the manual now that i look back at it, and im pretty sure a manual swap is out of the question.

I finally got around to installing my lbj's on my 4runner today after work. 184k miles on the originals. I read alot of threads on T4R.org about 3rd gen 4runners and lbj failure and i've repaired 2 customer's 4runners recently and the damage that it causes isn't pretty or cheap011.jpg 012.jpg 011.jpg 012.jpg 011.jpg 012.jpg . I'll sleep a little better tonight, lol.

This city is crazy! A cashier in a corner store not far from my work got shot in the head during a robbery a couple hours ago.

Did you have your fresh air vents open and parked frontend facing down hill during the storms last night? If not I have no clue

I've read on other boards water can come thru the cowl and enter the vents ,does your a/c heater control panel have a button for recirculation and outside air if so that would be your fresh air for a/c or vent intake which is located under the cowl on most vehicles

Or maybe your windshield seal is leaking on drivers side and running down behind the dash
