Last spring I went to Rauch for the first time and it was a blast. I've done a couple of trips to Uwharrie in North Carolina, some of those trails had my adrenaline pumping like crazy. I do a lot of George washington National Forrest trips with Isuzu guys in VA/WV. But I'm bummed to hear you guys dont do winter trips! The snow makes things very interesting, except for when stock 4x4 with street tires show up. I'm not sure if I'm going to drive up to PA to eat at sonic though.

Lmao your not driving up here to eat, its to hang out meet other members plan more meets. I'm down for some WV wheeling in the winter I just don't camp much once it's cold. Shamokin is where we use to go a lot and did a couple winter trips the ice shelf broke off under my truck in one of the mud holes and I puckered my asshole like I was about to find an IED lmao. Scared the crap of me suddenly dropping about a foot like that lol I don't suggest shamokin anymore though because the mud destroys your seals, my trans was covered in gear oil in just 60k miles. @LUSETACO had his seals go up too on his diffs.

Never been to shamokin but I'll check it out, GWNF is pretty tame. With my old trooper I would just put it in 2lo and drive around for the fun and I'd usually spend a day or two at a public outdoor shooting range. I personally hate mud, because it gets inside the frame and helps start rust, but I was repacking my bearings once a year to be on the safe side. How are the tacoma wheel bearings? It seemed like a good sealed design although I'm not sure how they actually hold up with some abuse.

What locker are you running? Seems like since the tacomas cant be converted to manual hubs getting a selectable locker is the only logical solution.

Honestly this is only my second tacoma, my first one survived 67k miles before getting traded in after I tboned a Honda accord and they pulled the frame. This one is only 13k miles old. My buddy has an 09 doesn't off-road but just changed his DS bearing at 155k and now his passenger side needs to be changed at 160k.

And yes believe it or not I dislike the mud too now.... My first tacoma was a mudwhore though. This one will never see Shamokin but has gotten a little muddy. Not like my old one though.

I hydrolocked an engine once and I promised my self after that to snorkel anyting I'd ever buy as insurance. It was a good experience though, because the hydrolocking forced me to rebuild the engine and I learned so much from it.

Tico sorry to hear you no longer have your taco. Pick up a nice used 4runner, they are usually cheaper than a tacoma and just as much fun imo.
