If you’re in the Virginia, Maryland or DC area, I would like to get to know some of y’all. I moved to DC for work from Idaho (much different haha) and would like to talk to others who have Tacomas and share the same interest of trucks and off-roaring or really anything.

Introduce yourself, where you live and what your interests are.

I live on Bolling AFB in DC and I have the hope of going out hunting in the Virginia area for some deer this year. Idaho is amazing for elk hunting and I already miss it a ton!

Drive about 100 miles west and you'll feel like you're home again, kind of. At least in terms of there being more deer than people.

That’s what I figured looking at the map of Virginia. Btw, I was born and raised in Spokane 18 years.

I can tell the base is really nice, but with older historical buildings, and not the best amenities or hours. It’s average i would say. Base housing is good where I live on the south area of the base. Idk anything about ft belvoir. I’ve only been here for a couple of weeks. How long have you been in the area? Thanks

Check out the Nova roll call... Very active forum with many from both sides of the capital. Meets, wheeling trips and mod days.

    Edit: Welcome

Well I was raised in the Botetourt/Roanoke area of Virginia for most of my life up until I went into the service. I still go home and plan on going back after this last year. Currently in Tennessee/Kentucky area though so I guess I'm not really still in the area. Sounds nice though. Heard a lot of good things from friends and NCOs/Officers that have worked up in that area.

I'm just North of Baltimore, spending a lot of time down in the DC area. There's good hunting around here. Definitely recommend the eastern shore of Maryland, but if you're shooting for public land you're better off going west or north. Waterfowl has some great public land spots around Baltimore and the shore though. All done via lottery.

If I were you, I would start looking for places to hunt now. If you use public land you will be okay except for all the crazy gunslingers roaming the woods (wear blaze orange for sure). Private land is pretty hard to come by. The parcels in this area are nothing at all like out west. Good luck to ya and welcome. I was stationed at Belvoir but have never been to AFB.

And I grew up in Northern VA, haha. I'm glad to be out west but Virginia isn't a bad place. I've spent plenty of time in the woods in western VA, and West Virginia. Enjoy it for what it's worth. Check out the George Washington national forest in the Shenandoah valley and Monongahela National Forest in WV for some semi good public land for off road exploring.

I’ll keep that in mind. I may not hunt this year, but we will see.

Relocated to Alexandria, VA about 8 months ago from San Diego, CA. I miss SoCal but I don't miss Comifornia. Also went from a 2018 Ford Raptor to a 2018 Tacoma TRD Pro. The DC area requires a smaller vehicle and the Taco fit the bill. Can't comment on hunting, only truck parts. Welcome to DC!

The hunting can be pretty decent around this region although the deer aren’t super big body wise. It’s worth looking into though.

Welcome to you as well! I’m all about talking truck parts too. Ford Raptors are really cool trucks too. I didn’t want to pay the higher cost for the TRD pro otherwise I would have gone for the 2018 Cavalry Blue one for sure. Jealous you got that color. It’s nice!

Yea, the Raptor is a great truck. I got lucky and picked up a barely used TRD Pro for a really good price. Too good to pass up kinda deal. I'm already ripping off the suspension, exhaust, steps, wheels/tires, etc and decking it out with all aftermarket parts. Had it not been priced so low, would have gotten an Offroad edition considering I'm taking off most of the 'Pro' options.

Have you already sold those parts? How much would you want for each if you still got that stuff?
