Hey fellow Toyota fam I am new to a forum such as this one but I am thankful for such things as folk knowledge! I have a 2000 Tacoma with 276,000 miles and the check engine light has come on. Got it checked and it's the MAF. Interested in getting a used one from a 2000 Camry. Are they compatible? Or....should I just get some cleaner or buy a new one?

Has anyone had an issue with high idle after cleaning the MAF? I used the CRC MAF cleaner? Is there a chance not letting it dry completely before reinstalling it would cause the high idle? My CEL went away but now the high idle?

I'd generally stay away from used sensors like that, but I'd also not buy a $25 one either, they tend not to work properly.

How long has the idle been high? After doing any cleaning of the intake, it's generally suggested to reset the ecu. It will take a bit to relearn, mine usually takes anywhere from 10 minutes to 30, but over heard others take longer.

I tried resetting ECU. Only left the negative terminal off about 15 minutes though. I'll try that again tomorrow and leave it off longer. It just happened today.

15 minutes should be enough, but did you let it run for awhile after? I've heard it can take a few hours, I've only seen maybe 30 minutes.
