I lost these screws when I switched to an S&B cai. I am putting my factory air box back on. Does anyone know the screw size for these? I have a 17 Limited.

Appreciate it. I hope that is the right one. I went to Toyota today and the one they gave me was too short. however, it did fit. But it just barely made it through the mass airflow sensor. Couldn’t even get one thread in the air tube.

What's the matter with your local ACE hardware for fasteners? Particularly when you have one that fits as far as the thread size for identification.

    Edit:
I did not realize these screws were self-tapping into plastic without any metal bushings when first posting.

Yeah that would be great if I had the screw size. Toyota does not even know the screw size and the only one in here is for a first gen. And it does not fit. That is my next plan of action. Possibly tomorrow. That is going to a hardware store.

It should be the correct part, I damaged mine when I was installing the TRD intake in my truck. Took some searching to find what I was after, and they look like what should be installed. I may take them to the hardware store to find something with a similar thread pattern and a hex, not a Philips.

Yeah I plan to go to Ace after work. But why is everyone suggesting a hex head, these screws are not put on that tight. Also, can’t remember if there were washers on there, it seems the first gen ones do, according to the forum. Did yours?

My problem was my intake being brand new. The screws had to cut new threads into the plastic, and probably partially on me for not having the proper sized Philips.

That makes sense. I clean my mass airflow sensor regularly, never had an issue with the Philips head screws.

At my ACE these are supplied by Hillman and called "self-cutting screws", there is a very small selection.

I did not realize these screws were self-tapping into plastic without any metal bushings when first posting. I thought this was an easy find.

Sorry again. Hillman thread cutting screws box #37377, purple label.

Product 37385-G #6-3/8” was the closest I found.

That does not look long enough. It needs to be about three-quarter inch. Ace Hardware was a bust. They could not find a screw to match. So I called Toyota and they’re ordering another set of screws based on my VIN number. So hopefully these are the right ones. the ones in your picture are the ones that I already have.

I pulled one of the MAF screws from my Tacoma and it looks just like the one in the link above.
I can measure with a caliper if that would help.

Looking further, appears 90099-00289 has been replaced by 90167-A0016

OK, I am officially a dumbass. I just got done watching the S&B cai install video from extreme terrain, and I forgot that there’s a spacer that went underneath the mass airflow sensor. apparently, it was all stuck together when I took mine out and I forgot about that. that’s why the screws wouldn’t work lol.

Did your mass airflow sensor have a gasket on it?

Yeah it has that. The S&B one came with a gasket. Appreciate it
