So completely discrediting an entire police force is "fact"?

See, you did it again without even realizing it. Or maybe you did. It's like it's in your blood or something:laugh:

Your the one who said they could take down the gunman with a paperclip and a rubber band. I think you have issues...

I didn't feel like reading the full 16 pages but I would love to know if there was any off duty law enforcement in there seeing the movie?

What would they have done or thought to do.

    Anyways devils advocate.

My prayers and thoughts with the families affected by this tragedy and I hope the shooter is eaten by maggots slowly.

Nothing confirmed other then the theater did not have off duty officers working last night which they typically do on other nights. If there was an officer or someone with a CCW I highly doubt they will come forward if they did nothing.

Uh, I believe that law was enacted because of the guy who shot up a schoolyard with an AK-47 in Stockton several years ago.....

We can try to stop freaks that live in the world where they want the attention given to them by media and normal people DO NOT USE THAT SCUMBAGS NAME ANYWHERE OR EVER again and his rampage will not give the rest of the disgruntled people reason or satisfaction of going out with a bang

Where did you take the course? Myself and a buddy took the Patrol Response to an Active Shooter at the Sig Academy with Scott R. from Nashua PD. He is awesome and knows his stuff. I am scheduled to take the instructor course later this year. Like you mentioned, no matter how much training one has, until it happens, you don't know until you're in it.

    I'm with this guy 100%
Turn and run or stay and fight.
Some people have this instinct and if you carry concealed, you are likely one of them.

I carry and have an extra 32 hrs in home defense, tactical training and combat carry. These are simple classes at your local gun shops/ranges that give you a bit more experience knowing how to handle situations just like this. I have no leo or military training.

Hard to say for most people what they would have done in a situation like this however I AM confident that if presented with a similiar situation, I would have tried my best to change the outcome.

This is the VERY Reason why people carry concealed.
To protect you, your family and the people around you.
I have a feeling that had ONE SINGLE PERSON taken a shot at or even near him, 30 rounds (if that) would have been all that he fired before making a hasty retreat. He obviously did NOT want to die, thats why he just waited by his car instead of offing himself or taking off. ONE person in my mind, could have changed the outcome of this tragic event.

Btw...someone mentioned body armor earlier. I did not see anything of this nature in the reports that I had read. Can someone verify if body armor was involved or not?

Also I believe the pentagon issued a statement saying that some members of the armed forces were either killed or injured. Anyone?

    then just on yahoo news

"Holmes, a graduate student at a nearby college with a clean arrest record, entered the movie auditorium wearing a ballistics helmet, bullet-proof vest, bullet-proof leggings, gas mask and gloves. He detonated multiple smoke bombs, and then began firing at viewers in the sold-out auditorium, police said today."
