Very unfortunate incident, schools, movies; way too many pathetic people out there! Stuff like this is totally unjustified.

What if flight 93 had crashed into a home or small town, and killed people that shouldn't have died because they weren't the target? collateral damage? Then I guess those people should have taken no action, and met their destiny. That plane could have come down anywhere, and apparently they did save lives!

I would rather have some chance, in a situation like just ocurred, than none at all!
GEEZ! couldn't catch any fish today; think I'll go out and kill some people!
Looks like that's what it's coming to!

just unbelievable. more people need to carry concealed pistols. these freaks need to know they will get pumped full of holes as a reward for their actions. how many people would have survived if someone could had one and could overcome shock long enough to take aim.

I carry but honestly shooting at someone wearing Armor vest, armor helmet through smoke isn't going to work. Highly doubt my .9mm would of helped other than directing his fire towards me and not other people.

I think more guns in the hands of the public is a very fine double edged sword.

Holy fucking shit, enough of this "take action" shit. I'm pretty sure if you were in a dark theatre with tear gas, hundreds of people screaming and running around with semi-automatic rifle fire coming at you, you wouldn't have attempted to do anything other than flee for your own life and protect your loved ones.

I didn't read all the replies but caught yours.

I'd rather try and die trying then sit back and wonder if I could of ever done anything and saved anyone, including myself, my family.

You have a chance of dying either way, sitting back and always wondering what if isn't a way to live. I'm speaking strictly for me, I would have attempted to locate said gunman and put him down.

On a side note I have more training then just a CCW class.

    ^ Good on you!

I already see all this turning into ban more guns as everyone else. I got into a argument with a friend over this. If we banned guns then this wouldn't have happened.

My response was, ok even if guns were banned, take a few pipe bombs toss in the theater and you have the same situation if not worse.

He had no response, were there is a will there is a way.

Guns or no guns, bad people will do bad things.

also a ban on guns wouldnt do shit. people will still get them if they try hard enough. kinda like drugs.

Of course no one knows but the people who were there, however we don't know how bad the smoke is. It's possible it wasn't horrible were everyone couldn't see through, apparently he could see or was it blind fire? Or does anyone know?

Absolutely (I'm pro-gun), I think banning guns is one of the stupidest things they could do.

Taking guns from law abiding citizens just makes it easier for the criminals to commit crimes.

Well assuming he obviously didn't give a shit about killing randomly people, I'm going to assume it was blind fire.

And I agree. I am AGAINST someone with a CCW just opening fire at the gunman when in a crowded, teargas filled dark room.

    Well said!!

You can't compare flight 93 to this incident. they are completely separate. Flight 93 had terrorists who were armed with box cutters, not guns, and the attempt was to take over the plane, not just kill the terrorists. I am sure they didn't expect it to crash. It was fortunate that nobody was on the ground in the area it crashed in.

Since he had a gas Mask on, he was not affected by the teargas, so he could choose his targets. From what I have read (note, this is a news article, and could be incorrect) He was not necessarily "selecting" specific people, but appeared to not just openly "shoot" buy would turn and select people that were running towards the exits.

Cops couldn't enter the theater without gas masks. That's enough right there to tell me I can't make an accurate shot in those conditions.

At the same time, I'm not going to sit there and do nothing. Depending on when he entered the theater you would have at least 10 seconds for it to spread through the theater.

It's a crazy scenario that turned into life sadly, we can all say what we want but any of us might do completely opposite things in real life.

I just know if there is a good chance of me dying, I'm going to make him work for it.

My prayers are with all affected and our nation in this time of mourning.

I am also pro gun and if there had been an armed citizen he might have been stopped before so many deaths. I am not sure about Colorado's CCW laws. But bad people exist and banning guns only affect the law abiding citizens. Does any one really think that criminals will turn their guns in.
