so here is a picture that i took during my trip from CO to MA. we were in kansas going up a hill, with a head wind, towing a trailer, in 4th gear, getting 9 mpg. if i dropped it to 3rd gear, we would get 5 mpg. notice that i went 103 miles on about 60% of a tank :(

ya... when i had my titan, i could tow 6000 pounds and still get 10-12 mpg. i was only pulling about 2000 pounds with the tacoma and getting what you see. i did notice that there was no lack of power with the tacoma (i could get up to speed quickly and pass easily), but it just took more right foot :)

Ya i know what you mean. 10 to 12 isnt too bad when towing 6000lbs. The tacoma is really good at towing things i think. I Have a nice ski 19 feet boat and a trailer weighting about 5,500 and my tacoma does it like nothing. I was really surprised. Didnt even notice the boat being back there untill i went over bumps lol. Love the truck

Ive heard that same thing before from people that live in Minnesota. I think its because this area is older and most of the streets are just paved over cow paths. Some very narrow roads too.

    Hey fellas,

Just seeing this thread and I am usually on the forums daily. I am from TRUE Western MA. I see a lot of people post they are from Western MA only to see Greenfield, Springfield, etc. I am about as far west as you can go, about 10 minutes from NY in Pittsfield. Pounding asphalt and some occasional off-roading in my 2007 TRD Sport DCLB. Gonna keep an eye on this thread ... :)

By your logic, then you don't really live on the east coast of our country, because you are to far from the water! lol

I am going to be in Peterborough, NH on Saturday and wanted to know if anyone is interested in a short trail run at Mast Road or the place near Henniker this Saturday around 1pm?

Need someone who has been to either place as I have not. I also do not know how much snow they are getting, but I have also put this in thread from last weekend so hopefully someone from New Hampshire will chime in.

I used to wheel with the NTC guys when I had my 4runner but sold it this past October for the Tacoma. Not sure if im ready for the carnage just yet with my new toy. Id probably be interested in some mild stuff if I grabbed a set of sliders but I think im gunna wait a little bit before I try to scale anything big again.

Finally took a couple pictures today... It's been a month since I put the lift in and its worked out really well. Been trail riding twice since and the clearance and travel is awesome. Made it over some bad wash outs and through quite a bit of mud...(only had to hit the diff lock once) The only shitter right now is the toyota dealership couldn't do an alignment cause my lower control arm bolts are seized up and they'd have to torch em'. $850! That's almost what I just bought the lift for. So, I gotta try and find the parts and do it myself.
Now I just gotta save for some tires.
