I upgraded to a jackery 300 after trying the 240 with a solar panel.

If anyone else is curious I used a 240 with solar panel and it would slowly discharge running a cx35, it will run it for a weekend but not much beyond that. The issue is the 240 limits the charging input to just under 40 watts. Without a solar panel it will run the CX35 for ~18hrs.

The 300 allows for ~90watts input from a solar panel and will keep the battery charged while running the fridge.

The 300 is the same size as the 240 size was an important aspect for me.

This is the same one for sale on Amazon, I bought a similar version of the CX50 with different branding. It works really well, and I can see the temperature and control it with my phone while we’re driving and it’s sitting back in the bed of the truck. We used it on a three-day desert summer trip and it kept our food perfectly well at 37° F. Another great thing about this unit is that the vents are up high on the sides so you can pack gear around it.

Costco is running the coupon on this again, from 3/29/2021 through 4/27/2021.

Could someone give me the height of the CX40? I have about 19.5" under my tonneau cover. Costco's website says 18.7" while Massimo's website says 20".

I have a cx30 and a cx40 coming in by Friday. I can check measurements once it arrives if nobody else replies.

Bought both. I think the 40 is the best for us. 40 on the left. 50 on the right. 521FF07D-7296-4C72-A293-06C974F36914.jpg2BBC339D-4538-498E-80B5-0566862C099D.jpg

Get one of these or spend the extra $150 or so and get a Iceco?

I took my Massimo CX 40 back after one trip. Saw a lot of reviews of these failing close to the one year mark. I got the ICECO 45. It has a 5 year warranty on the compressor. There are some youtube reviews on the ICECO that have their discount codes!!

Costco has new models including the electronic ones, plus a neat dual unit, plus their random discount going for about a week more, if anyone has been waiting. I still love my CX40 and it has been working flawlessly for almost a year now. I have found that if it tilts over on its side while running sometimes the compressor stops and the unit generates an error code, but if you turn it off (and stand it up properly) then wait a minute it will turn back on and everything works fine.

    I’m sure y’all have found a solution, but here’s what I did!

i used the existing holes and hardware after removing the ridiculous handle and wheels. I then cut 1/8 inch aluminum from Lowe’s to fit, and riveted it together at the bottom.

It’s sitting on the platform I made for my 40% rear seat, spray truck bedlined since the picture. I then bolted the L channel to the plywood, and the plywood to the original Tacoma rear seat brackets. The thing is rock solid.

All in, $30 for plywood, $25 for aluminum. Rear seat delete + fridge mount for under $60!

This setup looks sick! I'm thinking about doing something similar. It's usually just my dog in the backseat anyways. Is this the 40 or 50?

This is the 40. I’m 6’ 270lb and need the seat all the way back. I wouldn’t recommend any bigger if you want the seat all the way back.

Update, got it all bolted together and bedlined plus my jackery 500 came. I believe I have the cooler on highest setting (max; H) and it’s drawing 52w Max. I saw low 30s while I was changing settings, if anyone has any questions regarding watts pulled when compressor is in different settings just let me know.

EDIT: it reached 35deg from 75deg in just over 30 min, using 2% of the Jackery. I put it in eco mode now, and it’s drawing between 30-35W when compressor is running.

Got it, yeah I'm about 6'1 so 40 is a good call. Just placed an order on the 40...now to decide on the power station.

I found that my cooler wouldn't stay on, or rather the AC inverter would turn off. And when I ran it from the cig outlet, a light jostle would disconnect the adapter and the cooler would turn over. Over 5 days of 95 degrees plus, I couldn't count on it for a single day. I'm back to cooler's and ice.

Man, I ran this with a 100w panel and Ecoflow River pro and it ran out within a day. Not sure what happened.
