It’s already been said, but establishing a relationship with a good local independent garage will save you tons of money vs going to the dealership. Maybe 6-7 years ago, Bernie’s Auto in Green Bay put a salvage engine in my daughter’s Accord for $1,600 all in, which included a new timing belt. The vintage Playboy magazines and ashtrays in the waiting area are a bonus. He’s always a great source of free auto repair advice, and does free used car inspections for previous customers.

“Come back when there’s something actually wrong with it. No charge.”

    You need a Bernie’s Auto.

The scams ? Sure… these extended warranty “I did the right thing for myself and never used it” posts are just funny. If the warranties paid out more than they took in they wouldn’t be in business.

The techs HAVE to document these things from both a keep your job approach and liability to the dealership.

I doubt a single one of those things is actually leaking.

    Nope.
When it's under warranty those wouldn't be leaks...they would be seeping and "normal"

You really dont. Clearly you are one of those people, new to the forum, obvious not familar with Toyota extended warranties and someone who thinks they know it all.

to be fair, a 90k mile 2GR-FKS with a leaking timing cover isn't exactly rare

3rd gen taco steering racks all seep from what I've seen, tho.

Reach out to Troy Dietrich at Factory Discount Warranty, he sells factory warranties at cost as he makes his backend by selling volume not price gouging like your local finance guy. Purchase my wife's RX platinum and my Taco platinum from him, legit factory warranties and all, My 6 yr/125k, zero deductible platinum was $1040 or so and my wifes for the RX was $2k. Lexus finance toolbag was trying to offer me the same plan "discounted" at $7k @point of sale.
