I appreciate all of your feedback!

So quick update, my parking brake started adjusting and is now working very close to what it was before. I tested it on some steeper stuff and it is starting to stick much better, which it's working much better than what it was before.

I'm pretty sure the master cylinder is messed up from my half mile journey to the repair shop.

I have a question about the master cylinder. The link below is a master cylinder I found here in town and just purchased. Unfortunately, this one only fits for an automatic due to the reservoir. I did some research and it looks like I can swap my manual transmission or (clutch) reservoir and put it on this new replacement so my clutch hose has a connection piece. This is an aftermarket part, but it looks like my current reservoir will work on this since the master cylinders seem to be the same exact part from what I looked into.

Just to follow up, is this doable? I don't want to start this and end up looking like more of an ass hole like I maybe now!

assuming the master cylinder is the same exact part you should be able to swap out the reservoir pretty easy. It’s held in with either a roll pin or a set screw. Just be careful not to damage the new orings and transfer the new ones to your old reservoir.

It was never my master cylinder to begin with. I had it replaced by the mechanic who did my wheel bearing. I picked it up thinking it was all good. Pull out, pressed the brake and same old. Turned around and said it is still spongy. They bled the brakes again and as they did that I had the idea that it was the brake line. I spoke with the advisor about it and he approached the technician, who dramatically shook his head no. Another dude drove and said it’s good. I hopped in and still the same problem. So I went to Harbor Freight and bought a brake clamp. I clamped that left rear wheel brake line and jumped in that Tacoma to drive it.

LOOOOONGG behold, my brake pedal start to stiffen up. I called them, the advisor apologized and said to bring it in the morning and they’ll replace the brake line.

Sometimes ya don’t gotta be certified to know what the problem is. They went straight to the master cylinder without testing other parts first.

Just a suggestion - since you can trouble shoot why not watch youtube - buy some tools -
DIY - save $$ - you don't need to be sold parts and labor you don't need in the first place.

This is a very good point☝️

I was going to leave town and wanted to have them do it cause I would have taken a little bit longer. Now it’s kind of biting me in the ass.

I just dropped it off this morning and the staff were really cold and distant with me.

That is a good point and I didn't think of it. I kind of laugh and feel a little annoyed by the response I got last night. When I picked up my Tacoma, the brake pedal was still spongy and I turned right around. They bled it and everything. The main chode who was distant and cold with me took it for a drive and said it was good.

When I hopped back in to drive away, I pushed the brake pedal and once again spongy... I thought to myself "there is absolutely nothing normal about being 1-2 inches away from my floor board when braking".:duel:

Good God - you have to find a real mechanic - this is getting ridiculous - no it's beyond ridiculous.
