:mad::mad:I can't believe it. Took my truck in to get checked at dealership because my brake pedal was going all the way down to the floor. Turns out my master cylinder is bad!!!! How does this happen on a vehicle with 14 plus thousand miles on it??

Bummer. At least it is under warranty. Was this a safety threat? Would you have lost braking control if left unchecked??

It happens. Master cylinders have to put up with a ton of pressure, and if there's any flaws in the seal, it can fail prematurely. It shouldn't fail this early, but with as many that are produced, a few are statistically likely to have problems. You just got unlucky.

Hi everyone just posting an update on my situation. I got my truck back with new master cylinder yesterday. I take the truck to work today in the morning and the brake pedal does the same thing. When slowing down for a red light, the brake pedal goes all the way down to the floor struggling to stop the truck. Took it back in to dealer and now I am told it is the ABS actuator. This makes me nervous as it is a very serious safety issue. Hopefully it will get fixed permanently. :(

I'm starting to think how comfortable imgoing to be driving it once I get it back. I don't want to put my family and others in danger with the truck having braking problems. Who knows when and where they fail. I hope it doesn't happen again.

This really sucks for you, but sometimes things just do break. I'm not impressed with your dealer taking 4 days to get your master cylinder replaced....seems like a long time. And then, releasing the truck back to you in the same unsafe condition? Wow! I guess it must be a difficult problem to diagnose. Did you try pumping the brake pedal to see if that would help?

Anyway, good luck......I'm sure they'll get it nailed this time. Just curious, what kind of a loaner car did they give you?
