Well I haven't tried Mastercraft but I understand they get surprisingly good reviews for the price.

Coopers on the other hand, are priced fairly and have a lot of proven miles. Lots of love for them around here, and I haven't heard of anyone regretting them.

I picked up a set for the Sequoia for dedicated off-road / hunting / exploring tires and am very happy with them so far. And much better hwy manners than i expected. I still get over 20 mpg with these tires on the old tank.

Mostly stock with a few minor mods.
I'm familiar with highway tires, all-terrain tires, mud tires, snow tires...but not water tires. Can't help ya on that one.

I used to have the old Cooper Discoverer STTs on my '90 toyota before they discontinued them and I loved them. I sold the truck after putting 20k miles on them and they still had plenty of life left. When i got my mickey thompsons it was between them and the mastercrafts. But after $300 off a set of MTs, I couldn't pass them up

This photo is throwing me off because you are on a red dirt road... however you seem to have found the only spot with white sand and the dirt on your tires is white.....

And I don't know if it's been mentioned but both are made by Cooper anyway. I expect the ST are better on hwy as there's more rolling continuity in the tread (longer tread blocks, less rolling resistance), and the Mastercraft will be better in mud, with more breaks in the tread pattern but will suffer a little bit on the road (noise, comfort) and at the pumps.
