Is there a way to get matching painted wheel well trim on the off roads? Or is this a unicorn?

Idk if you could can buy a new one with the color match. You could probably swap with someone that owns a sport. Or maybe get a matching paint and paint it yourself.

Well, what are you starting with??? Pictures would be great for clarification.

Anything can be painted. Some parts are easier than others.

    OK.

Talk to the dealer about pulling the trim, have the body shop paint to match and reinstall. I'm sure there will be a cost adder.

But, you would get the match you want.

Make the work part of the truck sale. Get the details written into the Sales Contract.

Or......after you have the truck. Pull the trim then try to find a body shop to paint them. IMHO, it will be a tougher find for a shop to do such a small job. Although, you might get lucky.

Twice a year on my 2016 and it still looks like new. The painted ones look cheap, the only thing that looks worse is the ghey ass plastic "chrome"

If you drive your TRD Off-road off the road you are going scratch the crap out of the fender flares. It's pretty much the first thing brush and trees slide against. Mine are a mess.

Wipe them down with silicone spray once/month and they'll stay nice pretty much forever. Maxima SC1 is what I used on black plastics and rubber. Works awesome. Keeps mud from sticking too.

Takes maybe 10 minutes a year to maintain. Less effort than pulling them, swapping them, or painting them.

Or just put no maintenance into them and use some Solution Finish in a decade to bring them back to black. https://www.eshine.ca/collections/solution-finish

I haven’t done anything to my black off-road wheel trim pieces since the truck was purchased in March of 17 and they look good as new.

Yea I was gonna say that maybe 10 years ago there was a more frequent issue with fading but not so much anymore. All it takes is a little tlc and they will hold up the same way your clear coat will. It's on you really.

    Yeah
Buy a TRD OR that matches the color of your local soil, take it OFF ROAD, the problem will sort it’s self out. I’m about half way there, one more adventure and it should be fully color matched!

    Personally I’m glad they don’t come painted…

my offroad pro has the color matched wheel well trim, and I don't know why. I kindof wanted the black instead, until I realized I had the unicorn.
