I DID search, admittedly a little half assed and didnt find much info about 3rd gen’s. I’m about to upsize to 265/75/16 on the stock pro wheels and was wondering if a trd pro wheel 16” could be mounted as the spare under the bed and not get scratched up? I know the larger tire will be a little closer to the exhaust but not much. Mostly worried about buying a matching pro wheel and scratching it up… I will be keeping that wheel and tire in rotation. So it will be a 5 tire rotation going. Thanks in advance guys!

Fog lights, Vision Turbine 16x8 wheels, Goodyear Wrangler Ultraterrain 265/75/r16 AT's, janky LEDs that probably won't catch on fire
I have 265/75/16s and aftermarket rims all the way around including a matching spare wheel and tire and haven't noticed any scratches FWIW. Just be sure you're aware of the tpms issues with a 5 tire rotation. Apparently our trucks can't remember more than 4 sensors at a time.

So you’re saying that adding a tpms sensor in the spare will mess with the system? Geez…

I stow my matched spare face up so the hoist doesn’t mar the show side. It’s always filthy when I rotate it in, but have yet to notice any significant damage after cleaning them. I have a magnet on the chain to keep it from knocking around, but that’s probably unnecessary overkill.
+1 for the tpms issue. It’s an added expense to consider. You’ll need a tpms tool (pay once), obdii > usb dongle/computer/pirated version of techstream (pay once), or Carista ($10 pay and cancel subscription every rotation). Alternatively you could pay someone else to program the sensors every time or you could also just do nothing if you don’t care about only having 3 sensors on the ground 4/5’s of the time for the life of your tires.
It’s not that adding a TPMS sensor messes up the system, it’s that the ECU can only monitor 4 sensors. There’s no place to input a fifth sensor ID and the computer has no provision for monitoring one

Abandon the fifth wheel tire rotation and keep an old used spare as a spare; does not have to match tire size being a temporary spare. Easy-peasy.

This i hopped around shops for a decent shape tire in the right size put it on the steely then just picked up a spacer so my 285 would clear full sized spare for the low cost of free
