I just de-badged my 3rd gen last weekend so please trust me when I say this is NOT a project you want to do if you ever intend to have door badges again. It took a good amount of time to remove all the residual adhesive off the paint & getting them back in the exact location (& symmetrical on each door) could drive you crazy.

Plastidip is your best friend if you want black badges.

this looks easy, but how would you tighten up those edges better without ripping off the entire dip

+1 for tufskinz! Fit perfect and are not just a piece of vinyl. Nice high quality 3-D raised letters.

I also debadged the rear V-6 emblem and dipped my Tacoma side badges.

If you opt to dip your badges and save some $$ Watch a couple videos on dipping and don't do like I did and tape the letters off as close as possible. A member on here suggested leaving 3" of you paint exposed all around your masking tape and when it dries then peel it off and it will stick to the letters. I kept having little bits pull off since I taped it as close as possible like I would painting trim in a house.

It just comes off without much effort. for the inside of the letters you can use a tooth pick.

I have these overlays I ordered from Sparks Toyota. Willing to see all or individual ones if desired. Super easy way to black out badges! Message me if interested.

I did the Plasti-Dip. It turned out amazing for $4. So easy.

So glad I took the advice. Thanks everyone.
