CV angles look better than mine, we're both rockin 883s. I'm hoping mine even out a little bit once I get a bumper on there. Have you had any issues with your boots?

There's my passenger side for comparison.

Haha, I saw this on April 1. Pretty funny, that's an old KC135! It's got the old engines.
Man that picture was taken years ago. I'm still on the same suspension with zero CV issues!

Finally got around to refreshing my rear springs. Used one of the Chevy leafs as an AAL and kept my stock overload. That lifted me wayyy too high so I then removed the lift shackles and reinstalled my factory ones. Love the ride height now, and the ride quality is so much better. No more axle wrap either!

Got the RTT on the truck this evening in preparation for the weekend. It dropped my rear half an inch, but I still have 1” of rake so I’m happy with my bastard leaf packs. Going to see if it settles much and then maybe reassess later on. The RTT clears my garage door by about an inch, sothat’s killer. Pretty happy right now and curious to see how it drives tomorrow.

Where are you heading? We’re exploring the southern end between Highway 7 and Highway 123ish... trying to avoid the bonfire traffic.

Going down to Stephenville, about 2 hours southwest of Dallas, for Larry Joe Taylor festival. Basically a white trash bash and red dirt country music festival. Should be a wild time

Needed to do an oil change today, so I set out to do that. When I was removing the filter I noticed a lot of fluid on the top of my skid plate which I thought was odd. Upon further investigation I noticed that my driver front diff seal at the CV was leaking. So then I went ahead and replaced that seal and topped off the fluid. Rotated tires, adjusted rear brakes and put her back on her wheels. Love it when a 30 minute job turns into an all-day ordeal, but glad I caught that when I did. I just changed my diff fluids in Feb so it hasn’t been leaking for long.

Edit: Oh, and I forgot to mention that my front brake pads have been rattling for ever and I finally had a good reason to fix that since the wheels were off. Replaced the springs in the calipers and now it drives quiet as a mouse :)

Diff seal seemed to be still leaking, so I replaced it again today. Hope I got it this time.....And while doing that I noticed some play in my tire if I wiggle it in the 3 and 9 o'clock positions. I think that indicates bad tie rods? Up and down (12 and 6 o'clock) shows no play so I don't suspect ball joints, and if it was a wheel bearing I'd think it to wiggle in all directions.

Things I need just posting here to keep track of:

    inner tie rod (2) - 45503-39075 $212.22
    outer tie rod (L) - 45047-39175 $65.89
    outer tie rod (R) - 45046-39295 $65.89
    boots (2) - 45535-35030 $27.38
    inner boot clamp (2) - 90460-62006 $8.30
    outer boot clamp (2) - 90467-33005 $5.66
upstream O2 sensor - 89467-35060 $278.30 (I think this is the correct part number)

    upgraded alternator
"big three upgrade" - Doesn't someone here sell a kit for this?
If I do that then I should add a busman box and circuit breaker too
    :rain:

Edit: Camelback Toyota's online pricing is much better, and free shipping! Maybe I'll be able to continue to eat this month after all.

Today I finished all of that ^ minus the alternator and such. Got the tie rods, rack bushings, and new O2 sensor installed. The truck feels much more stable when I hit bumps and potholes now.

Eight days til I leave for Colorado...Just ordered a transmission cooler and an iPad mount for ease of use with Gaia GPS. Tomorrow I'm going to remove my alternator and have it tested. If it tests bad (which I hope it does), I'll see if it still has a warranty and swap it for a new one and potentially buy the CS144 alternator as well. That way I can install the CS144 and have a spare if it craps out. Saturday I might try to fab up a transmission pan skid plate. Why do I put everything off til the last minute? Why am I like this?
