    Never had a problem with my power steering. The whine doesn't happen every time I run the engine, and the steering doesn't feel any different if it is whining or not

    So power steering fluid level is good?

    Thats all I can give for advice. Post it to the what did you do to your 1st gen so some more knowledgeable people can see it :cool:

    My mom has a dodge and is has a slight power steering leak and thats the sound it makes when the fluid is low. Fill it up and it goes away.

    Not sure it will be the same for you though.

    I figured out that nothing is leaking or not performing, so I'm going to drive it until I have time to mess with it, which will probably this weekend sometime. I also have to work on my motorcycle, so that'll probably get me in the mood for maintenance
