Oh and my 14" Magnaflow canister itself costs $175ish +/- depending on where you buy it.

Well that's if you buy it FROM the muffler shops---they have to make their profit margin too. If you provide the canister, you can snag one off e-bay easily for UNDER $100. Pretty much pay for convenience @ the shop.

This is the exact one on my truck now:

Depending how you have it set up, if you dump it before the rear axle it'll be nice and deep and throaty when you get on it. I've got headers so it sounds super throaty even at low-mid rpm's. Being that you got a 6spd, a nice exhaust will always sound good. Automatics always sound buzzy to me with mufflers.

According to my muffler guy(who sells both Flowmaster and Magnaflow), the Flowmasters are good for people who PREDOMINATELY drive freeways...being that it's an aluminized construction, the moisture build up during stop and go city driving will deteriorate the insides quickly and ultimately resulting in a "choking" effect---hence, the nickname "CHOKEMASTER." If you're a freeway driver, the moisture has no time to settle as it's always being pushed out since you're driving at constant rpm's.

The Magnaflow, he says, is perfect for those who drive everywhere else because it's fully stainless and is not phased by moisture. It'll be a little quieter than the Flowmaster, but it will GENERALLY last a lot longer.

I've heard both the 2.5 and 3.0 versions of my muffler on the 2nd gen 4.0L and they both sound sweet as fuck. Go turndown right before the axle. :D
