Is there a shortcut from Hana to Haneakala state park? It looks like there is a trail called Kaupo trail but not sure if it's private and driveable.

Thomas here from Trail Ready Designs. Thanks for the kind words I've seen some of you post on here about our work. We are the only shop on maui with ASE certified mechanics, and every guy working here has built/wheeled their own crawler. I personally have wheeled/overlanded (before it was cool) all over the PNW including Fordyce and the 'Con.

I spend time with every customer to fine tune their build to their specific needs, I wont install drop bracket lifts and I will make sure your components are not being max'd out for the sake of a 'bigger lift'. Even a truck that only drives on the road should be set up correctly (Ask me how many FabTechs ive seen destroyed cv axles, ball joints ... its insane)

Ive been getting a lot of 3rd gens coming up with their suspension set up terribly. For the sake of your $40-50K truck, please don't let places over crank your coils and throw spacers on top of them. Get the right coil rate/length coil for your ideal ride height and most importantly don't let guys over lift stock components (i.e. cv's, TRE's, ball joints/uniballs etc). You NEED downtravel and a 2-3" lift, set up correctly, will out perform any cranked out setup every time. Oh and you cant "adjust" a 4" lift to be 6" (actual words Ive heard from other "shops") Spacers on top of your coils turn your $3k Fox race 2.5's into glorified bumpstops :D ... and thats terrible.

    Cheers guys, carry on!

Hopefully this info coming from a shop will hold more weight then me trying to explain. People just don’t want to hear it.
