Welp, its happened, i got my first truck and have been bit by the mod bug. I figure since my family is sick of me blabbering on about truck stuff I would put this here.

picked up my 18 TRD OR DCSB in february since I had always wanted a tacoma and was finally in a spot to make it happen. I had no intentions of modding it, then I joined TW and that plan fell apart very quick.

I live in new england and have a job that doesnt do snow days so I need to be able to drive through just about anything. not to mention getting to the mountains to bike, hike, ski, camp etc.

every time I think i'm done with mods I find two more to do.

    the list so far:

    1. meso gasshole
    2. meso LED interior lights
    3. meso ultimate turn signals
    4. pro grille
    5. baja designs squadron sports as fog lights
    6. CBI sliders
    7. xenon depot HID low beams
    8. OV tune
    9. american roll cover with intergrated yakima rack

after my buddy got me into off roading, soon to come is:

CBI skids(but I'm still researching other options)
steel front bumper (SSO slimline or CBI T3 aluminum)
steel rear bumper C4 BSM compatible bumper
    ARB onboard compressor
    aftermarket suspension

I am definitely open to suggestions on future mods and any other wisdom people more experienced than I may want to share.

before I got hooked on this truck stuff:

    with the new shoes:

Great start! That is tremendous output for just fog lights, I may have to do that upgrade sooner than I thought!

did you need anything to mount them or do they fit into the stock foglight spot easily?

Baja designs sells a mount kit that includes the wire harness and all replacement brackets. The lights plus mounting kit was about 350 I think.

No problem. The hardest part of the install was getting the black valence out. I would recommend confirming the negative and postive leads on the wires in the install kit before putting them in the adapter. I didnt and wound up doing it backwards first.

just ordered a hi lift jack but am not sure where/how to mount this. I know people make brackets that fit on the bed rails but I would need to disassemble part of my bed cover to get those on there. I am hoping to find an option that doesnt require that but I am coming up empty handed so far.

also ended up getting the TSB done since I am patiently waiting for OVtune 1.05 and apparently just sit around and not do something to this truck.

just pulled the trigger on bed stiffeners and mounts for axe, shovel and hi lift. also got to flash 1.04r today, large improvement over the TSB. now to find some more off road trips to get in on.

This looks great man. Love the wheels and Falkens..about to put some on mine.

So, you waited a bit then did the TSB, but even after that you would say that OVtune flash has worthwhile improvements over it as well? I'm eager to get the TSB done (only got my truck a month ago), but only just getting into the appeal of OVtune as well.

Edit: For mounting the new equipment, have you seen the Caliraised Molle? You could put one on the bulkhead that will accommodate the hi-lift and it might not require you to disassemble your cover?

Thanks man. yeah I put the TSB off for a while. I was on 1.04, then flashed the TSB and it was an improvement in some regards. I then put the new version of 1.04r on yesterday and that was even better than the TSB. if you have not been tuned before the TSB is a major step up but I still think OVtune was worth it. I'm excited for 1.05 to come out since 1.04r is already damn good.

I did look into the caliraised mole rack. I ordered mounts for the side rail since thinking about it more, popping off the side of the cover wont be super time consuming in the end.

big day for the truck today. got my relentless fab mounts and my ATH bed stiffeners. got em painted and mounted today. drilling holes in the truck to mount the stiffeners definitely made me nervous but it smoothly over all. coated all the exposed metal with a marine grade rust inhibitor so hopefully i can head off any issues there.
