Got the bedrack all welded up and painted. I used Rustoleum truck bed liner. Once I get a Hi-lift jack ill be adding some more brackets.

Ill be getting some sort of all-terrain or MT to replace the rugged fail.

Not to hot... I just set it up there to see how it looked. I've still got to figure how to mount it up.

Looks kinda familiar. ;) Nice work. IMO mounting your spare to the bottom of that rack might seem ok and not limit your view out the back window but it will be a PITA to take off, not to mention killing just about all the usable bed space you just created by making two layers of packing ability with the new rack. Just my .02 cents

EDIT: one more suggestion....... the brackets where the rack is mounted to your bed are quite small. With any kind of weight on the rack, the load is focused on those small areas and could cause your bed to spread as a result. Using larger brackets along the bed rails will spread the load better. The brackets on my own are about 6" long and I think that's even a little too short. I'll probably be rebuilding them this spring with a bracket the runs the entire length of the bed rail.

Lost track many, many mods ago.

I love both these racks and think I have settled on a design for mine that I am going to start this summer once I get back home from school. Thanks for the ideas fellas.

Thanks, once I mounted it up I realised I made the brackets way too small, i've got some more angle left to redo it with. I'll be mounting the tire on top so ill have the bedstorage under it, thats what the side mirrors are for anyway right..
