I heat with rice coal and haul it myself, I make 2 or 3 trips per year. This is a picture of one of this years load, it's 2100 pounds, you can see the coal very near the top of the bed. The truck sits level because I installed Air Lift Ride Control air bags Kit #59561 in the rear (@50 psi). I don't advise loading that much weight, it's not legal, but can be done. I only have to drive about 25 miles loaded. 20180924_163701.jpg

Multiple people have said it, I live it. Use a trailer. Here's mine -
    [IMG]

I've had it for 25 years and love the thing. Even when I had a 1 ton dually pickup that could easily handle your load I still chose to use this instead of the bed of my truck.

Here it is hauling some big ass load of cut sod off to the dump. That much weigh would have flattened the springs on my truck -

I was thinking about hauling a 1ton pallet of heating pellets. Only about 3miles, but sounds making it 2 trips would be smart.?

Or rent a trailer. That sort of weight would wreck your springs if you loaded it into the bed, but will tow easily on a trailer.

I’ve put about 1,500-1,600lbs in the bed at one given time.

Payload is around 1,100lbs WITH all passengers and anything in the truck.

I have towing and hauling experience. I’ve moved 4,000lbs in the bed of a diesel.
I would not move 2,000lbs in the Tacoma. #1 any company you buy the stones from should not let you leave that overweight. #2 speeds over 50mph your probably going to be doing some swaying.

You’ll trash your leaf springs and just be a massive liability. You’ll be on your bump stops at 1300-1400lbs.

But you’ll hit a woman a call her a crack whore so maybe your judgement is different than mine...

Had a couple of moderately heavy loads when I had my Tacoma, but nothing excessive.

    Bricks:

    Some Swamp Maple:

I never really overloaded it, though, because I've always used the work truck for the actual work. Holds more and handles it better.

And now I've got a 3/4 ton, so that gets the 'heavy hauling' assignments by default. :notsure:

That being said, at around 1200lbs my Tacoma was always resting pretty firmly on the bump stops.

I recently hauled a ton of wood pellets in my '17 Tacoma rental (my '06 is in shop getting frame replaced) and I still couldn't bring myself to go over the payload rating lol. Did it in 2 trips.

Not the maximum load I've ever carried, but certainly the maximum value. IMG_6426.jpg

hahaha sadly I can relate to this...

OP, I’d probably find a trailer. One time I overloaded a tundra by about 800lbs of wood. Nothing bad happened so you’re probably good right?
