Looks good, but you need to adjust your installation.

The should be adjusted so that it is more narrow, it isn't supposed to overhang the side the bed like that.

The bottom of the legs should look like this:

It’s a little hard to tell from my pictures. But the rack is actually over the bed itself, I also don’t have as much room between the side of the bed cover and the edge of the bed. Difference in years/models maybe? Also the rack is as narrow as will allow without removing the corner bolt from the leg (closest to the center).

Just put an 18" Taco Max on my DC6'. Looks great, I am able to roll up the Truxport tonneau all the way, takes about 2 minutes.

Just finished installing the MAX Modular ALUMINUM TACO MAX 14". Saw a lot of 10" and 18" racks on the message boards but not a lot of photos of the 14" so I thought I would post mine here, and also a few points that were helpful for me as my made my purchase.
    1. There is a lot of flexibility in where the top bars go. In addition to holes every 2" or so, the top bars themselves can slide left/right a bit (see photo) before you bolt them down tight. The rails of my RTT are exactly 32" apart, this allows me to get this just right and bolt the RTT directly to the top bars
    2. I really like the height of the 14" rack with the tonneau adapters. Just tall enough that it does not in any way obscure my vision during normal driving, but also sits a touch below the roofline (see photo from driver's seat).
    3. I have the Solid Fold cover that came with the truck, it it JUST slim enough that the tonneau adapters do quite not sit on it (all the weight is on the bolt), so I put some rubber gasket material in between the tonneau cover and the adapters to take some of the weight off the bolt. I'm sure this was totally unnecessary but the engineer (chemical) in me had to do it. The mechanical engineers will probably tell me I am an idiot.
    4. Because of the way the truck bed is shaped on the inside, the rear attachment pieces of the rack (which bolt to the truck bed itself) end up kicking out the side walls of the bed ever so slightly. At least on my truck. You can see it when you tighten the bolts down. I am going to drop a washer between the tonneau adapters and the rear attachment pieces to bring them in just a little.
    5. KBV shipped this product within ~ 24 hours of my order, I made the mistake of selecting USPS "Priority" which took almost a month to deliver (and as a bonus, they stopped tracking it after about 3 days)! I should have Googled this in advance... lots of people having trouble with USPS, I wish I had just done FedEx.

Overall, extremely happy with the rack and can't wait to throw my RTT back on there.

That 14” looks great. Thanks for the photos. Just made up my mind between that and the 18”.

Thank you for posting this. I was trying to decide between RCI, CBI, All Pro, or KB Voodoo (14" or 18"). This looks like the perfect height. Might jump on one during the sales this month.

So happy with my purchase. First, the customer service was fantastic. Excellent communication and such fast shipping. I’m clear across the country and the rack got to me in 3 days. I went with the 58” steel rack in a 14” option and I’m stoked. Took maybe an hour to install. Super simple and straight forward. The adjustability of the rack made it so I could direct mount my Tuff Stuff Alpha tent to the rails and not have to use any mounting brackets. I put it through the ringer this week on a Death Valley and 395 excursion with the family. Held up great and I can’t wait to start decking it out with some of the mount options and eventually a slider.

I gotta share my story with this product.. I am really disappointed with it, and with the company. They've completely ignored my inquiry regarding the obvious low-quality of this product..

    1. Ordered in July2021
    2. Installed in ~August
    3. We get a bit of snow in Jan but really not that much

Here's the rack as of now:

I contacted Max Modular on Jan 9 and got this response:

"Salty winter roads will cause that on anything made from steel. We make aluminum racks for exactly that reason."

Since then, no response at all. They've ignored my emails.

I've spoken to several body shops in the area and they have told me this is an issue with low-quality powdercoating - the bare metal isn't sandblasted but coated with something that clearly wears off because this piece is rusting from the inside!

I'm clearly not the only one having QA issues with this company: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/our-latest-project-max-modular-bed-racks.561985/page-5

    Anyways, buyer beware.

I Have the 22" bed rack and want to add these the
MAX Modular SPORT BOX in the 18" height. Anyone done this and if so, do you mind sharing some pictures? I'm hoping they just bolt right on.

    TIA!

Thought I'd chime in to say, I'm really happy with my KB Voodoo Max Modular setup. 10" tall long bed rack on a short bed with the cargo boxes, all aluminum.

Super light, strong and makes for a clean looking (IMO) platform for a roof top tent. Also adds a bit of security to the contents of my bed, as they're too bulky to fit through the opening in the back (not to mention the security of the locking cabinets). I'll soon add front and rear panels to enclose the whole thing, once I figure out how to do the hinges and locking mechanism on the rear panel.

I've had it for over a year now and it's holding up extremely well after being through various weather conditions. It's seen a lot of off road use and has only needed retorquing a couple of times. Looks brand new still.

    That's a phenomenal looking truck.

I'm sure nobody on this forum has ever asked before, so I'll go first: What size tires are those, and what lift do you have?

    Thanks!

35x12.5R17 Yoko Geolandar MTs, wheels are 17x8.5" RRW RR7H -25 offset. Lift is around 2.5" via King 2.5 extended travel shocks/coilovers with several other items to make it all work with as little rubbing and as much shredibility as possible. Fender trim, CMC, firewall/wheelwell hammering, proper alignment, shims, gusseting, etc). Pretty stoked with how well it works.

It takes a lot of work to put 35's on a Tacoma, but when it's done right like yours, it's pretty awesome.

We just added a Gladiator Rubicon to our stable. You can slap 35's on it with the factory wheels and stock suspension, but that's one of it's few fine points. After driving it around for the last week, I'll take a Tacoma any day.

Just thought I’d throw in a long term update with my 10” rack. I’m still very satisfied with it, the only thing I somewhat regret is not going for the aluminum version but it’s not a DD anymore so I’m not as intentional about MPG.

    Great pics!!

I'm not sure if you would notice much difference in MPG's with aluminum vs steel. The main reason to go with aluminum is less weight on the rear suspension, and corrosion resistance.

I've been running our 14" rack with a CVT tent for quite a while on our Tacoma and our Gladiator, and I haven't really noticed a big hit in mileage.
