Not sure why, but ethanol-free was .08 cheaper than 10% today. Last fill up, it was .30 more. The only thing I can think of is that someone forgot to up the price on that one pump when they upped the price on the others.

Last weekend I drove roughly 325 miles at 80 to 85 mph (I love Montana) averaging 19 MPH. Nearly half of the distance in a 35 mph headwind and over two passes in each direction.

Assuming you're in slower and better conditions, you can likely expect better.

It should also be noted that I am in a manual transmission.

Mine defaults to 387 at every fillup, but goes down fast once theres 100 left on the clock. I get between 235-260 per 17 gallon fill up. On a highway trip Ive gotten 19 mpg.

Whitefish and Kalispell are great places. Next time you're up in that area check out Big Fork.. Not as busy as the other two towns, much prettier, and it is right on Flathead Lake

Also, lots of good looking fly fishers!

Lots of great places to go. Although, the better off-roading is near Butte and Anaconda. Comet Montana (super awesome Ghost Town) and there are a few abandoned Rail Tunnels to drive though.

I think it is actually from the abandoned Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroad otherwise known as the Milwaukee Road

My observations were on a mc ride from Sturgis thru GNP and down thru Lolo pass to Idaho. I believe it is hwy12 a bikers dream road, of course the million dollar highway 550 is a close second. If I lived there At least Id have the taco to get me thru all the ice and snow in the winter. Beautiful country

Total Chaos mid-travel front. JD Fab SUA rear.
385 default when I fill up, average almost 400 if I wait til empty to fill. Usually fill it with no less than 3/4 though. Max was 416mi to tank and still had about 2-3 gal in reserve!

I have 119 miles on the current tank and it says that I can go another 321 miles to empty.

If I keep my foot out of it for the rest of the current tank I could get 440 miles out of this tank of gas, realistically I will probably get 375 to 400 miles because as we all know we do gouge on it from time to time. :D

Last fill-up I used 100% gas 91 octane...I'll know more on the next fill up but this is my round trip to work and back..."country and secondary roads"...I've been getting about 344 miles then about 16 or so gallons to fill back up with cheap gas.

    NCM_0296.jpg

Edit....I forgot to mention another bonus...The transmission seems to not shift as much as before...Still too much shifting, but it's better!

2nd Edit 4-30-16: Scratch that transmission post...Still shifts like a POS...Also overall m.p.g. was 22.2 on the good gas so I guess the on board computer was wrong...

They should have put a larger fuel tank in. They redesigned the truck but still put the same 21 gallon fuel tank in. It must have been pretty difficult with all the redesign parameters to put in a 26 gallon fuel tank.

I can only guess, but i would say you should be able to get 400 miles.
I don’t and can’t anticipate running mine below a 1/4 of a tank let alone letting the needle hit empty so i can't verify.
I use 87 top tier fuel and it’s been my experience all gas contain foreign particulates, some large enough to see with the naked eye and they tend to find a home at the bottom of the tank.
I have no intention of taking a chance of picking any of that up my fuel system, or damaging my fuel pump since it also needs to be immersed in fuel to keep it cool and functioning properly.
Best of luck with your truck, cheers!

Thats what fuel filters are for. Run it til the low fuel light comes on, theres always a few gallons that is never sucked up in a tank, just for that reason.
