There are so many variables that it isn’t a clear cut reply.

    265/75r16 on a 16x8 et 0 will clear
285/75r16 on the same wheel will likely rub.
lower offset wheels stick out further and will run in different places than higher offset wheels. You sorta have to pick your poison. If you never plan on leaving the pavement you can typically get away with a larger tire.

There has been 20 or so similar posts over the past week. I suggest you read a bunch of them. I have been and I still can’t decide what route I’m going to go.

My truck has a 3/2 lift with Spc upper control arms. I’m running just over 4 degrees of caster, -.25 degrees of camber. Wheels are 20x8.5 et -5 and running 275/60r20 KO2’s. I just ordered some smaller wheels and am trying to decide if I should lower the truck a bit and drop down to a 265 or just keep it as is and run some 285’s. Best of luck and seriously read the threads, it does help.

IMO run some 16x8 wheels 0 off set on some 265/75/16 will look good. No rub etc. unless you want to cmc etc. with 285’s

I went 275's on 17's and I think it's perfect. Not a single rub anywhere. Wheels are Toyota though.

285/75/16 will require a cab mount chop to fit

    welcome to TW

If the truck is going to be a pavement pounder like mine you can fit some fairly large tires with minimal trimming.

I have a 3” spacer lift, meaning that while my truck is indeed lifted, the travel is still stock. If you have a “real” lift, then your wheels would be able to go further into the wheel wells than mine can, which would cause rubbing.

With the 3” lift I also have 1.25” wheel spacers, wheels are 7x17 +18mm and with only a CMC and trimming about 1/2”-1” off the front of the bumper I am able to run 34’s with no rubbing at all.

I should also include that prior to the 34’s I ran 285/70/17’s and with my particular lift I didn’t have to cut anything, I would get the slightest of rubbing going in reverse if the wheel was at full lock to the right.

Again as me and others have said, it depends on a lot of variables, one of the biggest being the environment in which the truck will mostly be in.
