They recommended 2 15 minute stretches of driving. So I drove 15 to a dinner spot, then ate, then 20 minutes home and called it good.

you will only need to make 2 stops. Drive for 15 minutes, cool off for 15, drive 15 more, cool 15 more and that's it

You will have to do this one more time in the dirt with 4wd but its not a huge deal. not like standard break in

On my way home from my re-gear! I’m on my 2nd stop now doing some work on the side of the highway haha.

The experience was overall excellent in my opinion. I got there at 8:30 and they started right away. I was able to work in their waiting room which had AC (100 degrees today). Miguel was very kind and helpful and easy to chat with. He explained everything in detail to me and it all made sense! Another reason why everybody should get their gears REM polished is that you don’t have to go back for the 500 mile oil change! Instead, Miguel told me that I will just have to change my oil in about 15,000 miles. 85-140W non-synthetic or 75-140 synthetic.

I’ve only been going 65 in the slow lane but man I can definitely feel a difference. It just feels so much “lighter” or “effortless” if that makes sense. I got 19mpgs my first stop and am closer to 20mps on this 2nd stop and got like 17 on the way up. Really excited to see how it feels when I get re-tuned on Sunday!

Just curious, but for your REM polished gears, did they tell you to come back in 500 miles for your oil change, or did they say you can skip that step and just wait until 15,000 miles or so?

They told me regular intervals starting now.

The whole point of REM polishing is that it removes all the burrs from the gears so there’s no metal shards in the oil like there is normally.

Curious who went with Nitro, Revolution, Yukon and Motive Gear and why? Which ones you suggest or to avoid. December 1 is my install date.

I went with revolution, have only heard good things about them and I have also heard they have the least amount of “whine” that is also what Miguel said.

I went with Revolution as well, for no other reason than they’re local to me in the city I grew up in. Gears pretty much all come from the same couple factories, so it’s like asking which brand of fuel is the best for your engine.

Curious what’s everyone’s thoughts about the shop? Heard mix things about them regearing that some trucks got messed up? Was going to go with another shop but it’s so hard to get a hold of them and make an appointment since there hours are limited…

Glad you had a good experience and seem to be enjoying the results of the regear!
you can skip to 10,000-15,000 miles
I went with Revolution because their master install kit includes Koyo bearings which are the same ones that Toyota uses. Gear whine is supposed to be a lot less than other brands, and supposedly their gears are made in the USA
I had a great experience with them. During the last group buy we had around 100 signups, and no issues were reported.

There have been issues with another shop going around bad mouthing Premier claiming that Premier didn't set up a bunch of differentials correctly. Now I'm not saying that there have never been issues, no shop is perfect after all, but all of our recent experiences with Premier have been great. If there ever were problems they have been cleaned up and taken care of.

I am curious as well. I got a quote from Sibi for a 2nd gen 4x4 Regear (no REM or any add ons) and it was $2950 and 2 days.

I have herd nothing but good things about Sibi so I trust they charge that for a reason.

When there is a price difference of $1300 there has to be some sacrifice made in order to keep the lights on in the shop.

Does Premier reuse oil, seals, or…?

Not trying to bash West Premier just looking to learn more about how they can Regear for such a good price?!

I am definitely ready to pull the trigger on some 4.30s

Premier West is a differential specialist shop, they don't offer any other services (other than wiring your E-locker for you).
They're pros, which is why they can knock out a regear in only a day.
They don't cut corners, so no need to worry. They have work for daaaays and always give back to the community.

Sibi overcharges because he can and people will pay.

I know SIBI does more than just regears, but Miguel was telling me that since they only do differential work, they are able to buy materials from manufacturers in bulk and get really good deals? Which is why they are able charge less and get you out the door sooner? I think haha

Definitely makes sense that a shop can charge less if they do only one thing and do it often.

Worse case add in the extra warranty and really can’t go wrong.

As others have stated, it’s partially because that is all that Premier West does. Ordering gears in bulk helps them keeps the prices down as well as how many gears they order in a year. The way it works is if they order an X amount of gears in a day they get X discount the following year. The more they order the more discount they get. Things like these group buys really help with staying in the bracket as well as ordering the gears in bulk.

Premier absolutely DOES NOT reuse oil seals, bearings, etc. All regears include a master install kit which includes all that. If you look online, you can see exactly what each kit has.

Another thing you have to remember is that you are comparing a sale price from one shop to the full price of another Premier's full pricing is between $2500-$3500 depending on the model. You are also comparing a quote for a Ranger to pricing for a Tacoma which is different. I believe the Ranger's are more expensive, if you'd like an exact quote DM me your info and I will have Premier send you one
