Maximum Penalty for Animal Abusers

I received an e-mail asking me to sign a petition so that the men who abused this dog in Australia receive the maximum sentence for their disgusting torturing of this puppy. The event was video recorded so there's no doubt who did it. These men are trying the insanity argument. I would think you have to be insane to do something like this, but you should still be punished. i say if they torture an animal they should have the same thing done to them. an eye for an eye a tooth for a tooth....

I dunno dude, i want to agree with you but thats a slippery slope to the argument "animals are equal to people". now dont get me wrong, typically i like animals more than people (they dont back talk me as much) but i cant say they are equal or should have equal rights. although if i saw a dude abusing a puppy i would not hesitate to beat him within an inch of his miserable life. i dont know where i stand on that argument. it infuriates me to see someone hurt something helpless, but i cant go as far as to say animals are equal
