So here is what I'm thinking.

    60 front, 14B rear, built.
    Stock toyota steering box
    12valve 5.9
    NV4500
    NP205 doubler with a 205 or dana?? ??
fuel tank out of a suburban? or custom fuel cell
63 chevy leafs in the rear

3 link with panhard or radius arm with panhard in front -- this is the part I'm having trouble with, but the thought had also crossed my mind to just run leafs in the front as well

    front bumper with superwinch 10k
    rear bumper with swing out
    37s
    safari snorkel

Tires like to rub on leafs at full lock... Seems to be the case for all of the SAS'd rigs I've seen that run leafs instead of links.

My buddy Kolt runs an 8" with 40s and leafs and barely rubs at full lock.

    I'm not too worried there.

As far as links... well theres radius with panhard or I could shoot for something like Wyatt built. Just a little out of my area of uhh yeah way over my head.

I guess I could 4 link the rear and leafs up front or leafs all around or leaves all around.

    So many options.

just link it just like I did. The three link front and rear with opposing panhards works awesome.

Here are three examples of trucks with that same set up.

    I'm sure I wouldn't be :p

However getting to that point is the problem.

This truck is going to be more of a light crawler... exploration... camping... road worthy vehicle, with a heavy ass cummins with loads of torque. I'm looking for good flex but above all I want it to be strong and stable. I know you have no problem cruising down the highway and I'm sure the 3 link would work well... None the less I feel the cost and the competence to get me there is quite a bit more substantial than leaf springs or even radius front leaves rear. Even if I attempted your 3 link up front I'd still be tempted to run leaves in the rear.

    Money and skills... :p

Really I just feel like I'd fuck it up. Guess I should re-read your build.

I bolded the key phrase above. Dropping in a cummins isn't exactly a normal and frequented modification. As such, finding a leaf pack to suite your needs is going to be....challenging.

With coils....simple. If you realize the 700# springs you originally tried are too soft or too stiff...you can just change the coils out. Hell of a lot cheaper than a new leaf pack and a hell of a lot more predictable than someone's best guess at adding/removing leafs to get the lift/load capacity on a spring pack. When's the last time you saw a spring rate on a leaf pack?

Leafs are great for budget builds with junkyard parts, but for the plans you have I say do it right and do it once.

I know what you're saying but at the same time I don't know if I have the competence to properly set up the geometry of a 3 link. Maybe that means I have no business building such a truck but

    So... how bout them gears...

    $1374.50 from ECGS + cores

    now they've gone up - 30$ :p

    4.56s solid sleeve

    e-locker/open

$900 plus trade for low mileage stock gears and I will help with swap -- gotta be local-ish obviously --

rear pinion is barely seeping gear oil haven't heard anything from ECGS -- been a couple weeks now :/

Think they fucked the seal up.

Not many miles on the rear and it's less than a year old. The front is around 2 years old with ~20k miles on it.
