I bought a pair of Maxtrax mini traction boards and I’ve spent more money on mounting solutions then I did tor the boards. I’m trying to be mindful of the space in my bed as I have a couple 76L cargo hard boxes packed full with a recovery bag and fridge and slide. Does anybody make a mounting system for Molle panels that I’ve overlooked? I’ve searched the webs and had no luck. All I’ve found is bed track mounting options which interfere with my Molle panels from @BuiltRight Industries

    Hey,

Just to clarify, are you trying to mount the maxtrax or are you trying to mount the cargo boxes?

I’m trying to mount maxtrax mini boards. I’ve bought the $65 maxtrax mounting screws that are 40mm long I believe and they’re either 3/8 or 7/16 bolts. Could y’all make me something? This is how I’m currrnyly setup. IMG_0711.jpg
I bought the minis hoping I could utilize this area below IMG_0712.jpg

I think just some nut Serts for the oem rail with threaded bolt hole should work fine but and with 40mm bolts it would allow clearance for the soft topper rail clamp. I’ve had no luck finding a solution. I bought some side rail mounts that didn’t work from BAMF

If they are Maxtrax official mounting kit it will be m10 metric bolt size

You could fabricate mounts for them. Use a piece of flat stock to mount the pins in then bolt the flat stock to the molle panels.

So interestingly, we are making our own traction board mounts. There will be a video on our YouTube channel Monday night showing the development process and our prototype. I don't have an ETA yet but I'd wager they will be available in the next 2-3 months.

An option would be to use Quick Fist mounts around the handles of the Maxtrax. We do that in our AT4. On my Tacoma, I used 1/4" bolts with a washer and wing nuts on my Prinsu. I was able to get a length that was just long enough to fit.

So do you need to reinstall the washer and wing nut every time you take them out for use? That’s the solution I’m searching for but would rather not have to reinstall washers and bolt each time I use the traction boards. A way to mount a washer and nuts behind the molle system would be ideal

Here’s what I rigged up using 1/4” nuts bolts washers. Works pretty good tbh IMG_0745.jpg IMG_0744.jpg

Yeah the wing nuts solution isn't ideal for most, but it's something we've seen and done when there wasn't another solution available. Looks from the pictures you have something figured out. Looks clean and you were able to make it work for the space you had.
Our prototype video goes live at 5pm, I'll be sure to send your way just so you can see what we're working on. It would be a solution for your cab wall as opposed to where you currently have it rigged up.

What about a couple of long dark colored pillow cases — and shroud ‘em and wedge the Maxtrax in there on the drivers side between the box and Molle panel? Cause then you can take them out when you’re not in adventure mode and they won’t rattle around. I know it isn’t what you asked for, but it sure is nice to put muddy, dirty boards into a sleeve or zip-up and keep that mess away from the rest of one’s gear.
