It looks like Cochrane Toyota is selling Treds. I'll get a price when I go pick up my bumper next week.

This is a review of the maxsa escaper buddies. There $150 on Amazon.com but $270 on Amazon.ca.

Another option if the price can be right.

I saw a set at canadian tire. Probably crap, but came with a built-in shovel!

EDIT: After looking around their site, I cant find the ones I saw (orange plastic style) but they do seem to have a few options for traction aids. A few with good reviews too.

I will also add that the escaper buddies are made pretty thick, with some nice heft to them.

Here are some leashes I made for mine. I used some 1/2" pvc and orange paint I had. Cost if the rope and spring eyes were approx 25 bucks, and I still have 60ft of rope left over. I used 10ft per leash and ended up around 5-6ft long. I had picked a brighter rope at the store, for better visibility in mud and sand, but it was only rated at 135lbs. I figured I can pull that hard with just muscle power, so I elected to go with this at a 350lb rate. Not as bright as the other but oh well.

I'll take a look, but I feel like those are used by people who aren't doing the kinda things we are and are probably mainly for snow.

Nice find. Could always hop the border to get those. I'm sure shipping would be brutal, unless they ship usps.

Treds are ok but like everything else to get what you pay for. maxtrax are better quality, pack thinner and have more options for mounting. Mine have held up great and they're almost 4 years old now.

    A few things

Hey on these escaper buddies are there holes in them so you can mount them to something like a bed rack? I've seen the Maxtrax mounted that way and just wondered if these were the same. The price is great and from what I can tell these are the next best thing to the Maxtrax, and even a little longer. Nice job on the leashes.

If you look on the corners of them, you can see the holes. I'm assuming they came that way, as they are ovaled of to allow for some wiggle room

They don't seem as aggressive as the other traction aids, however they do seem more compact. Damn this market has so much selection on everything lol
