Ouch! Well, if you end up doing the repairs yourself, I would be more than happy to lend a hand.

Yeah im thinking about taking this opportunity to upgrade the steering rack to a tundra steering rack. Ive heard it makes 35 inch tires feel like theyre stock size

Did they tell you what they thought was wrong with it...for 400$?

Also, Ive had zero issues regarding the steering rack with 35's, its been the cab mounts that gave the most issues, until I relocated them 3" back (I would say fenders but with glass, that wont be an issue at all for you either). I have not heard of swapping out the SR for 35s on these trucks. Def not to say it cant be done. If you pull the trigger on it, I'd be curious to see what differences it offers

So i think since im doing an insurance claim the shop just priced out what it would cost to replace all the affected components (instead of actually figuring out whats wrong. So they want to do a new steering rack, new pump, new tire rod, new hub, new bearing assembly. I know if i were to do the work my self theres no way i would be replacing that much shit. My freind had the same thing happen and he just had to drain the hydrolic fluid and straighten the steering wheel because it skipped a few teeth. But hey im not opposed to all new parts .

no not at all! good for you, if insurance is taking care of it, replace it all if the shop is recommending that. That seems a lot easier than how I thought it would go haha

Thanks for this. I've been trying to hunt it down since I got back. Kept mispelling the name :facepalm:I've been driving around mirrorless and with 5% tint I have to roll down all the windows just to check my blind spot.

Jesus, sorry about that. If you decide to take the insurance payout and fix it yourself I'd be happy help. Least I can do since you were running around trying to find me when this happened. I'll bring beer.

So, my family likes to go to Capitol Forest and pick up trash along the trails. Would there be any interest in a group event? Maybe partner it with some shooting or hiking?
