These are XL, not SL, but yeah I know. I was speaking more to the off-road pressure question. I was going to drop to 32 or 34 to start with and tweak from there. My stock wranglers rode at 32.

Despite that, running at 40 on road felt fine to me yesterday.

    Edited to add:
I confirmed that 41 is max load pressure for XL vs 35 for SL. I still intend to try lower after driving around for a bit at 40, to see if there’s a need to drop first.

Agree on the PSI. Mine were 40 from the shop I went down to 32 but seems mushy. Went to 34 rear and 36 front w the shell and Rtt. Seems pretty good

Off topic, but what’s the “TRD” lift? Haven’t heard of this before.

Just made an order for these in 265/70/16, they're on sale right now through SimpleTire for $151/tire for anyone interested. Figured I can't beat that and get rid of the stock Wranglers. No clue who thought it was a good idea to stick those on their flagship off road model.

I'll update with pictures once I get them on!

Hmmm, be nice if they gave tire weight on their website. The Canadian site doesn't anyway.
EDIT: The USA one does, WTF?

I've never thought about this or noticed before with other tires (mainly because I never paid attention). So this may just be the A/T tire thing - but these tires definitely have a warm up cycle. In hot (100F) weather, for example, I can go from 30-31 to 35-36. Even around town - 29 cold to 31-32 warmed up (which seems a bit more reasonable). I assume the door jam is for cold tire pressure? I don't think the wranglers moved around this much (But I didn't have them long enough to notice). Anyone else have some anecdotes?

Seeing same thing in the swing in temp. Really need running mike at 32 rear and 34 front cold They seem to increase 1-2 around town and 2-4 on hwy.

Ask noticed this when out on a road trip last week. I set at 31 all around - woke up one day and they were 29, then 34 when going through the desert!

No complaints though - went though rocks, dirt, and sand and they were excellent compared to the stock tires. Love these things!

I seem to recall years ago, there is a formula about how much your psi goes up from cold to hot, to determine cold pressure. Like, if it goes up too much, your cold pressure is too low. If it doesn't go up enough, your cold pressure is too high.

With trucks, I've always gravitated to the chalk test, but since this truck has real-time tire pressure monitoring, I wonder if that old psi increase thing would be fun to play with?

Got them installed a couple of days ago, great experience going through SimpleTire.

Initial impressions (only ~50-100 miles on so far), they look great, much more aggressive than stock. They are noticeably louder than stock, but nothing terrible. It was expected since the stockers are essentially highway tires. Bumps seem slightly more harsh, but again nothing terrible. The truck does seem more “planted” on turns. Overall, for $151/tire, I’m very satisfied so far. Time will tell though. I’ve got an off-road trip planned for next month, so I’ll update then with performance.

Bumps don’t feel as harsh to me - did you check the PSI the shop aired them too? Seems common for them to get aired up to 40psi from the install shops.

They aired them up to 30psi, the stockers were at ~35 from the factory. It may just be in my head though, but the daily bumps I take just seemed more noticeable. It could also be that I was actually paying attention to them more to see if I noticed a difference.

Just splurged on a new set of wheels... Going from 16 to 17s opening up a lot more tire options!

I'm thinking of these in the 265/70/R17 XL Load range, their website has it at 31.8" diameter; that should fit an otherwise stock OR, does anyone know?

It should. I was going with it before I got my lift, and I was confident it wouldn’t be an issue.

Most of us have had to source our through Simpletire.com. Did you check there?
