First week follow up. So, over 500 miles on these tires. Dirt roads, a little bit of real off-road, freeway, grooved freeway, some rain (no snow). Here are my thoughts.

    Quick Comparison of 265/70R16s
    • OEM: 37lbs
    • SL RAZR: 38lbs
    • SL Wildpeak: 44lbs
    • LT BFG KO2: 52 lbs
    • LT Wildpeak: 53lbs
    • LT RAZR: 54lbs
I was an early adopter of the Wildpeak and before now, I would have considered them my favorite AT tire. However, these are quickly becoming my favorite because they better meet my overall needs, and seem to be better, overall, at more things.

I never had a problem with BFG's, they look good, I liked how "square" they look. They performed well, but are freaking heavy and really impact acceleration/braking/cornering. I liked the Wildpeaks more, but they were also heavy, although I felt they performed, overall, better.

So far, because these are so light, I can discern virtually no difference in handling from the cheese-ball OEM tires. Mileage may have taken a slight dip based on the computer, but I'm still consistently getting over 20mpgs.
    upload_2021-3-11_10-24-43.jpg
    • These things are really quiet. It's close, but probably quieter than the Wildpeaks. Definitely quieter than BFGs. Slightly, every so slightly, louder than OEM.
    • On grooved highways, really stable. Better than both Wildpeaks and BFGs. Very little wandering.
    • Rain. It wasn't a toad-floater, but no hydroplaning, very stable and confidence inspiring. No slipping under normal acceleration. Better than BFGs for sure. On par with Wildpeaks.
    • Braking, Excellent, better than the BFG/Wildpeaks, probably due to lower weight
    • Acceleration, Really really good. Again, because of the low weight, they come up to speed nicely. On par with OEM.
    • Dirt Roads. A really fun tire. Plenty of grip, easy to feel when they are starting to slide. And they slide very predictably.
    • Real Off Road. Very compliant. Didn't really push them too hard. They are SL, not LT, so I don't expect these to be rock-bashers, but thats not really what I need.
    • Highway compliance. A very nice, comfortable tire. On par with OEM.
    • Cornering. The carcass is slightly stiffer than OEM, so they feel more planted in the twisty bits. Not as stiff as an LT, which can be viewed as a pro or a con depending on speed, radius, etc. of the corner.
    • Look. This is subjective, but I think these are the best looking tire's I've ever had. They are almost too chunky looking compared to what I'm used too. I've always run AT tires, these look almost like an MT, but they sure behave light-years better than an MT on tarmac. I also thought the raised MAXXIS and RAZR would look gaudy. But in the real world, it just looks... cool.
    So, final thoughts:
If you want an LT tire for heavy off-roading, I would be very confident in this tire.

But, if you want a good looking, chunky tire, plenty capable of modest off-roading, but that also doesn't ruin the on-road mannerisms of the truck (which I think is probably the majority of us) the SL version of this tire, simply cannot be beat (so far). I do kinda wish they offered the SL in a 75, but the with everything else you gain, I'm willing to give up that 3.5" height (1/2 inch sidewall height) difference for all the other Pro's the 265/70 SL tire offers.

Thanks a ton for following-up - these are definitely my next tires now. Still having a hard time finding them so they must be popular (don’t even see them on Simpletire now)

I finally got them on this past Friday and headed out Saturday morning on an 800 mile road trip from Denver to Phoenix. Initial thoughts, these things are smooth and quiet. Great road manners. I've always had more aggressive tires on the truck which is probably why I was truly blown away at how they feel and sound on the road. My wife and kid both commented on the tires several times on the drive which immediately made the purchase worth it. We hit freezing fog, rain, snow, light hail, and ice on the drive out and had no issues at all. So far I'm very happy w/ the purchase and am looking forward to seeing how they do out on the trails.

I've not hit any snow, only some modest rain, but lots of dirt work. They do extremely well off road. Good to hear they do well when it really wet and in the snow.

Fenders and flares trimmed. I like these better than duratrac on road so far, haven’t taken them off-road yet.

Took them off road a bit today. Nothing crazy but they held their own. Got into a couple deep rutted out spots, on a climb, where they broke traction and had to put it in 4 lo to get out. Not really surprised by that. I think the Yoko G003s I had on previously would have gotten me through but you can't really compare these 2 tires off or on road. They definitely pick up some rocks/pebbles here and there but that's to be expected w/ the tread pattern. Really no issues to speak of. All in all a great day out in the Tonto National Forest. Looking forward to getting out more around Colorado this summer w/ them.

I loved my radial Trepadors and DOT Creepy Crawlers...

These might be a consideration for the 350... Hmmmm. I was previously considering the Ridge Grappler, Falken AT3w, and Toyo AT3

Nice video. Still trying to decide between these and the Ridge Grapplers.

Ridge Grapplers aren't 3 Peak rated so if you drive in snow these are a no brainer.

I'll definitely be going with Maxxis RAZRs for my next tire because they check all the boxes for me... lightweight, 3PMSF rated, and best looking AT tire IMO right up there with K02s.

Nice summary. Those were all of my big criteria. Call me shallow, but I wanted a "cool" looking tire. It had to be 3PMSF, I wanted as light as I could get, stone ejectors were very important, a mileage warranty is a bonus. The fact that these are so quiet on pavement is double points bonus.

It is indeed a big plus. Are folks ordering from
Simple Tire and having them delivered to local shops? Haven’t seen local places with them.

I actually prefer the look of the Ridge Grapplers, but the 3 peak rating is a sticking point for me.

    edited to add:
The fact that they’re still relatively new to the scene, vs the Ridge Grapplers seemingly good track record, is the biggest thing giving me pause.

I ordered from SimpleTire and had them shipped to the house as opposed to a shop. I then had a local offroad shop mount/balance them for me. I did this only because this is the 3rd set of tires they've done for me and I've never had an issue w/ them. I had an 06 LJ w/ 33x12.50s and some of the bigger name tire shops struggled to balance them w/ one place messing up one of my wheels. I figure an offroad shop typically deals w/ bigger tires so they know what they're doing and so far that's proved true.
