Anyone pull the trigger on the maxxis AT? I’m between those and the Pro Comp AT sport in 265 75 16 for ‘21 TRD off road.

“Sane” off roading and well mannered on the road. Reading both are solid choice

For those who bought the SL 285/70R17’s how much did you end up getting them for? Now that simpletire is out of stock they dont show a price.

I only just drove home - all city roads and lights. (I wanted to get the five OEM tires out of the back.) But just in that drive I can tell you it felt more planted in turns, which coincides with some of your comments. The statement you made about inspiring more confidence is kind of where I’ll start - cause they do 100%. But we’ll see

Keep in mind this is my first truck (despite owning many many SUVs) and definitely my first vehicle with true all-terrain tires. As I get more experience with them over the next couple months I’ll report back.

(definitely inspires more confidence though without question, over the OEM)

Available here: (removed because this seems like a shell company with no customer service. Sent the wrong tires and wont respond.)

    Just ordered a set myself.

So even just driving around town today for a good couple hours - I can already tell the difference. It just feels more planted (when compared to the Goodyears).

Road noise is more (remember I’ve never had true AT tires before) but not noticeably when listening to music tbqh.

Anyone running the maxxis AT 265 75 16 on 3rd gen w stock wheels and no lift? Very curious about any rub. Not a lot of extra clearance w the UCA w the stock 70s. I’m in for the maxxis AT and want to go 75s but am concerned about rub.
    Thx

You won't get rub, but the 75s only come in an LT/E, and they are one of the heaviest LT/E options. As I recall, they might even be heavier than the BFG.

Several folks have been emailing Maxxis asking them to make the 75 in an SL.

I stayed with 70s because the light 38 lbs was more important to me than the added 5% sidewall on the 75.

Many the thanks for the response and heads up on the load/weight. Didn’t catch that and would have made a mistake. I’m with you. 75s too heavy. The reason I like them is the low weight and, from what I read, very low on road noise while still capable off road even with the light weight. Thanks !

    Like, so many.
I'm really curious how these stack up against the Nitto Ridge Grapplers.

Really interested to see how these perform in mud, I'm aware they're not a mud tire but I live in Louisiana and that's all we have. Currently running Maxxis Buckshot II's and I have nothing but good things to say about them.
I was planning to bump up to 285 Buckshot II's or Razr MT's next, but these have caught my eye. They look extremely aggressive for an AT and remind me a lot of Nitto Ridge Grappler's and M/T Baja MTZ p3's, which from what I have seen perform well in mud.
I said I would never go back to an AT after how well MTs have treated me offroad but I may have to make the switch back with how cheap and light the SL is.
