Because it's cold and shitty outside, and @Nimble9 made me think of it again, lets have a thread to plan this trip.

    https://www.untamedmainer.com/how-t...-branch-railroad-in-the-northern-maine-woods/

    It's north of BumbleCousinFuckNoWhere Maine.

Day 1: Transit to VT, Camping.
Day 2: B52 Crash site for lunch, then on to the woods We'll be dodging heavy logging trucks who drive 70+MPH on the dirt. Camp at an un-improved camp site in the Great Maine Woods
Day 3: More dirt roads and trains. Camp at another un-improved campsite in the great Maine woods
    Day 4: Head south, RTB.

Comms will be a mixture of CB for intra-group and HAM for inter-group.

    May 25: Day 2:
-Leg 1: NH to Elephant Mt. B52 Crash: 4 hours 0900 to 1300, via Rangeley and Moscow. https://goo.gl/maps/VvHcoB7ebHt7b8t99
    -Leg 2: Into the woods: 4 to 5 hours, 1430 - ?

    May 26: Day 3:
    -Leg 1: To the Trains: ? - 1200 Coordinates of the Locomotives:46.322455,-69.374991
    -Leg 2: To Camp: 1400 - 1700

    May 27: Day 4:
-Leg 1: To the Main Turn Pike: 0700 - ?
    -Leg 2: Home ? - ?

Day 4 Anyone who wants to convoy south is welcome.

Approximate camp site locations for Night 2 and Night 3:

Exact sites will be shared via PM, the internet does not need to know our exact locations.

    Menu and logistics:

Operation: Operation You're On You're Own (YOYO). This is not a catered trip!

I have neither time or energy to coordinate a combined menu. Plan on bringing enough food and water for 5 days (3 days of planed menu and 2 days of emergency rations).

If someone else wants to coordinate something that's cool too.

We had a good time doing that trip a few years ago. Next time I’m thinking on camping out in Baxter. We went for a little ride in the park last time and I’d like to see more

I'd love to discuss routes. I was going to follow logging roads up from Millinocket.
