People like that are why I am extremely careful buying used, and prefer buying new.

You could buy a bumper, winch, or something with that money.

Besides, doing the testing will tell you other things about how your truck is running..... that's mostly why I do it.

At my job we do 5k for everything. I do the same for my 2TR. OEM filters and oil for me. Decent Mobil oil and Hastings filters, unless police fleet, for work stuff. Fuel filters every other oil change.

Its cheap insurance. Plus, it gives us a chance to keep an eye on everything else. Lube the zerks, fill the washer tank, etc.

Going the extra mile never hurt nobody

Who are you to judge lol. People choose to do different things and go down different paths.
I don't judge unless the path hurts me or family.

Would any of you marathon interval oil changers (10k or more miles) like my used oil? Since I change mine every 3k or less I figure it's practically clean by your standards. It would save me a trip to the local oil recycling center. Waste not want not right?

Yeah, I checked on that ... 5K is for tire rotation/check fluids/etc etc .. Minor stuff. Actual oil/filter change for 'CONVENTIONAL' oil .. 5K ... Synth oil, 10K ... Or the time lapse.
