    Who cares again?

    Not this guy

I've driven the lauded 3.4 and it was slow as an impacted turd compared to my 3rd gen 3.5.

I certainly don't care, this engine seems to work fine for most people, but the lack of low end torque and shit transmission ended my relationship with Toyota.

Yet you're still here. I've concluded the Dodge and GM forums must be full of dotards talking about overlanding at Denny's for the early bird special

The relationship isn’t over if you are still lurking this forum. Sounds more like a trial separation.

This is the best forum on the market, Toyota doesn't build a truck that can carry 3,000 lbs, if they did, I would probably be driving it. Loved all the toyota trucks I've owned, like 10 of them over 2 decades, but the direction they, Toyota, took the Tacoma, no thanks, and the Tundra is a half ton truck. Not stuck on blind brand loyalty like most on this site, but this is the best entertainment on the truck forum gig.

That GMC 2500 will be in the shop soon. I'll still be riding around in my Tacoma.

301 hp @ 6600 rpm means nothing when the stupid transmission never let you go above 2k rpm. Unless your manual of course.

45,000 miles on this one, nothing, 40 thousand on the white one, nothing. Sorry to deflate your bubble.

Obviously, I still like the Tacoma, great size, awesome trail mobile, truly loved my '15 DCOR, that truck got the best traction for a stock drivetrain, it was soooo much fun off road, but, I needed way more payload ability in the long run. I work everyday, not off road, bummer. So I needed a heavy duty truck in the long run. But on the one test drive that I did in a 3rd gen, after reading on them for 2 years, tried to go in open minded, but the power band and transmission gearing and or software, just didn't feel good to me, so I did go elsewhere. You must admit, that this engine is coming straight out of a car, doesn't matter for the majority, but when you need to access low rev torque, it doesn't provide.
