Was relatively slow speed impact with dumptruck(Big Volvo) as i was traveling around 25mph through intersection.... Didn't see much damage too it(heavy steel bumper), but didn't have much time to look around after accident. Accident was 1/4mile from fire dept and had an EMT/volunteer nurse waiting to take my BP etc when i got out of the truck.

Truck that hit me was at the same tow yard....... IMG_0422.jpg gives you an idea of how hard it hit me even though "he was on the brakes".

On the bright side,he did admit to running the light to the ins. company. So the accident will be coded as no fault to me and paid through my policy since he does not have enough property value coverage on his policy

You're amazed a lot then, aren't you? Most people carry the bare minimum because it's more affordable. I have the same coverage as you for the same reasons, but we're the exception, not the rule.

And the word you were looking for was "alluding".

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
That really sucks man, it's totaled. But being a 2011 you should be able to get a pretty nice insurance check for another out of the deal. No speedway blue on the new Tacomas though. :(

Do you have the "Uninsured/Under insured" on your policy?

If so that will cover the rest of the cost.

Or if you are financed did you get the Gap insurance?

for 2 or 3 bucks a month the gap insurance is great to have even with a vehicle that retrains its value well.

Thanks for posting the link to the salvage auction..... Can't believe the value is that high considering the damage to the truck.... Core support was literally pushed into the motor, no electronics function(insurance company could not get anything to light up - luckily had the alignment receipt from 5 days prior to submit for mileage), pass front tire and suspension is smoked, no straight sheetmetal anywhere on the truck........

Quick summary of insurance dealings..... Purchased for 27,800 approx. 1 yr prior... insurance valued at 27,200 plus $500 for the accessories(bed cover, ventshades).... Basically was able to drive the truck for 1 yr/14000miles for $600. I did not bring up the lift and tires up as I did not want to open any cans of worms regarding contributing factors.... besides P&S money more than covered this expense.....

To my mind Progressive did a good job with the claim.... I had a check for the balance after paying Toyota approx. 10 days after the accident.

Difference vs the 25k property damage limit was paid by my policy(collision) and coded as No-fault and the deductible was waived. The owner of the dump truck may have a different opinion. The agent I dealt with told him to file with his own insurance company and that in no way was I liable for damages to his vehicle....

Other interesting fact is that even though I have a limited tort policy(basically waive claims for P&S) in PA, I was able to get pain and suffering because the accident occurred in NY, which is a full tort state.

And the replacement.......................... is not here yet.

Placed a deposit with dealership on 10/27 to order a 2015 BRM DCSB OR for 31400 plus TTL.

Starting to get fed up with the wait though, as dealership hasn't even given me a build date yet.... Driving my 97 4runner with a 2.7l and 197k just isn't the same.
