Found a good deal on a low mileage 2020 OffRoad MT that I’m really thinking of trading up for.

My 2017 Sport MT has been a great year model, but didn’t know if the newer ones had problems.

    Anything major?

2020 Sport has had zero issues. Power adjustable seat is nice. TSS maybe a pain for you.

I love the new tech. I understand it could give problems down the road.

Why trade it in? Unless you are desperate for elocker it's the same truck. Sounds like a waste of money for no real gain

Except I’d go from 94,000 miles to 15,000 miles and only owe about 15k after trade in. Could pay off in less than 2 years.

still you know your tacoma works, a used one you don't. I wouldn't pay 15k to reduce my mileage by 80k

If you have 15k to burn go ahead. I'd use it on other things.

My 2020 sr5 runs great, no issues. The tech stuff sucks however....wish they didn't have it.

Many financial decisions are emotional! And that's OK if adding an additional $15K to your current debt load will not matter. On the other hand, you do have a nice truck that I assume is already paid for.

You only live once, do it if you want and can afford it. I went from an 18 Sport AT to a 2020 Offroad MT and don't regret it one bit.

I’ve got no other debt at this time. Yes my truck is paid off. What’s 15k for a new truck with options I’ve wanted and tried to add aftermarket

Are you selling your current truck or trading it? You may could run the VIN in a few places and sell it for more than trade value is why I ask. I love my 2020 Sport

I personally would not be buying a used (or new) vehicle this year unless my current vehicle is 100% undrivable.

But you sound like you are already arguing strongly towards trading, so go for it; do what makes you happy.

I may change my mind after seeing it in person. Just curious if they had any major problems with the new ones really. I know some white ones had paint issues. That kinda thing

My 2020 has an issue where the SOS button thing doesn’t work. There’s no lights on it when the truck is on. Also, my clock doesn’t automatically change from day light savings time to standard time (the setting is turned on) and it can’t pull updates for the EnTune system. I have a feeling they are all related. Brought it to the dealer shortly after buying it and they said a computer module went out and they would order the part and call me back. Never heard back. I moved a little while after that and am at a new dealer now. Gonna have them check it when I get my free oil change tomorrow.

Other than that it’s been great.

That’s a new one for me. Sounds like an easy fix if they’re able to very get the part in since it’s computer related

I hope so! I’m not subscribed to the connected services plan, so it wouldn’t affect me much if it was fixed, but it sure would nice to not have to keep changing the time on my clock when it de-syncs.

    First world problems

I say do it. Sure its 15k more but not taking into account the much newer truck. 80k less miles is like getting into a new truck with newer tech. Sounds like a small finance amount and plans to pay it off early, thats like $250 a month for a warrantied truck. Not to mention, yours probably needs a few things.

    DO IT.
