Found a sweet deal on MBRP exhaust from a diesel shop, off all places. It's a cat-back, side exit exhaust listed for $209, and with the instant promo code of 'MBRPSALE' I got another $31 off the price. I checked the part number and it's listed as a $269 retail on MBRP's website, so basically got $100 off with free shipping. I was going to just weld another exhaust in to replace the stock muffler, but this is the same price and I'll have my stock set up to swap back if I don't like it. Also figured I can have a resonator welded in later if I like. Keeps options open this way.

Not affiliated in any way, and I've never heard of the place, but I thought I'd pass it on.

I have that same exhaust and I like it. Nice and quiet cruising but gets loud when you step on it. Just FYI because of the price it's built from heavy duty aluminized steel looks like stock exhaust. Its the fancy stainless look and half the cost

Maybe it's just because my last truck was a v8 but I just can't bring myself to put a louder exhaust on my tacoma. They sound like shit.

Please update when you get it installed. Do you know how long the promo code will last?

Not sure how long it will take, but I'll update for sure. Got the shipping notification last night.

I hear you on the sound thing - I know it will never be a V8, but I do enjoy a bit more noise when I press the loud pedal. Dealer's choice I suppose.

I put the same exhaust on my 2017 a few weeks ago. It sounds pretty good but definitely drones while driving uphill or pulling my trailer. Not unbearable though.

The best part is the little backfire rumble pops it puts out when coasting downhill

That's why I didn't go with turn down version because that would be too loud for me. Now if was my old 72 chevy c20 of course I had dual turn downs.

same here, tried it, lasted ONE day, went back to the shop
and had stock put back on. For taco's, a good CAI is the perfect
    sound for me.

This is what makes an exhaust to me. Especially in a manual that has been revved out a bit and is engine braking.

haha, right!? My wife asked me if I broke the truck again. And after I told her that was the new exhaust, you know, to increase mpg's :) she refused to drive it or ride in it.
