So I've got it in my head that this MPM4000 is going in above (or below) the P99 in my '03. It's clearly not going to be plug & play though. Anybody ever used any sort of bracket/adapter with the MPM4000? Longshot, I know, but I'm sure somebody's done it. If you're looking closely, you might notice the face of the Mc has already been trimmed to fit in a tighter spot than stock - flush with the case.

How would you do it - head unit on top or bottom?

I'll figure it out either way, but if someone's already been there, I like to minimize downtime on the daily driver

i'm one of only a couple running dual head units(by technicality, my upper unit is really just a placeholder-- has no wiring attached to it), but the best way to start is to buy a second dash and wiring kit. mock it up on the work bench, pre-wire for the truck, then it's just a few minutes of swapping in the addition instead of hours attempting to fab everything to fit, while under the deadline.

I do like that idea, but I have a feeling getting them lined up right so they don't look silly will be challenging.

I have a dash kit in there now and have another in the closet - wound up with 2 for some reason

The pocket is held on by a few screws and can be separated from the top piece. The HU is actually bolted to the subframe using the factory brackets & I should probably do the same with the P99 and try to wedge the Mc below. Bass knob would need a new home too. I stuck it in there as a kind of test fit, but it's been there for years. The pocket's too small for much else and anything you put in there just slides out after a few minutes of driving.

I'm also thinking I'd like to remove the face from the OEM head unit & make a faux panel to hide the goods if I have to park somewhere sketchy. I usually just drive the truck between secure garages, but can't put it there all the time.
