My doctor is talking about foot surgery to remove a bunion on my left foot. Says the one forming on the right isn't as bad yet but both feet are painful to walk on.

I can't begin to imagine the pain of an MCL/ACL tear. Fuck that. When my ex had her knee replacement, her recovery was a full year. I would imagine it varies between PT and people. How is your PT going? I know this was OP'd a few months ago.

believe it or not, the surgery hurt more than the injury.

total recover will be about two years. I’ll be ready to return to the academy after 9 months.

PT is going well, I am naturally competitive and was really active, so I am actually ahead of what I should be with strength. I’ll probably have full mobility and most of my strength back long before I am actually cleared to go back.

Is everything still going well with your recovery?

it is! Thank you! No PT at the moment because of coronavirus, but I am doing my exercises at home. Finally start squatting with a little weight which is nice!! Mobility and time are all I need now :)

    Glad everything is going well!

I’m still trying to get to PT even with this. Its just every other week now.
I’m jelly you are already squatting.

I hope things continue to go well for you.
This knee stuff isn’t for sissies.
    Stay safe!

How has your quad strength been coming along now that you are this far out?

I've been getting really frustrated. My VMO has not improved at all in the last year post-op. I'm starting to feel like I'm permanently handicapped at this point but I think that's my brain being melodramatic. I'm struggling to get that quad activation back so stair climbing is rough as is getting back to heavy DL and squats. Running I'm all good but that requires very little out of the quad.

Quad is not too bad. I get some pain here and there I’ve been really focusing on it. Still much smaller than my other one! Lol

    I KNOW! What the heck!?

I feel like I need some roids to inject in my thigh. If only it worked like that.
