I'm having a problem getting a lug nut locking key for the lug nut shown. I have been to 2 Toyota dealers with one tell to contact a company and the other referring me to another dealer. Does anyone have any advice . I have a 2012 Toyota Tocoma TRD TX pro . I bought the truck use and the previous owner did not leave the key with the truck .

any good tire shop should be able to pull those off. I'm amazed that the shop was not willing to or able to remove them. worked for Honda, and Subaru and we always had a kit availble to remove lugs when someone came in without the key, or a used car would come in.

I read somewhere you can take a 6 point socket that’s a little smaller than the lug nut, tap in on and use a breaker bar.

There likely was a sheet of paper at one time that had the lugnut code number on it, which, if you were interested, would help you get a new keyed socket. Maybe under the back seat?

Removing a locking lugnut is easy-peasy for any shop. But that doesn't get you back in the ready-on-the-road business unless you replace them all with standard lugnuts.

Here's the code sheet that came with my 2008 Lexus RX as delivered:

Worse case, weld a nut onto it and then use a std socket to remove. Just make sure you prep to get a good weld.

But again... common problem. Tire shop should be able to help you out.

@Scotte410 Try Extra Mile Performance in Odenton.

Last time I was there having some work done on my truck they were helping someone else find a key for their lugs. They specialize in Toyota trucks.
