Who has off on Columbus day? I've have a bunch of jobs in several different industries and the only people I know that get off on Columbus day are teachers.

 

I think about 30 million people have it off this year. The weekend leading to Columbus Day is when I’m considering hosting.

Not true. Every company I've worked at has observed New Years, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas. No Presidents' Day, no MLK day, no Veterans Day and no damn Columbus Day. I've worked at 6 different public and private companies (including government contractors) and this has pretty much been standard.

Anyway, sounds fun. You all enjoy, I'll be working.

Would definitely love to get together with everybody for a gathering. Had a blast meeting and hanging out with everybody the last one in Crofton at the barbecue spot. I’ll Can bring sone crab cakes/ball.

 

Yes. They usually have Black Friday, Christmas Eve and New Years Eve off instead.

Most of the public school systems here don’t take off on Veterans or Columbus Day either. I think only about 3 of 25 take off either of those days. They all are closed on Presidents Day.

I only know one person who gets off on those federal holidays and he works for the federal government.

 

We are having a get together at my place near stauton Va on the weekend of oct 10th. We sit in the George Washington National Forest, so there are forest roads and trails outside the driveway and a few at our place. Feel free to camp or come for the day. Is anyone that’s coming still stock? My truck is stock and I’m thinking of trying to make this.

 

You will be fine stock. My trails are pretty mild and it’s all dirt, no big rocks to get hung up on. If is wet or muddy the stock tires will be a slippery but that can be fun.

 

I'm sure we can bob the bed once you show up. Then you wont be stock.

 

I’m going to try to make it. I work construction management and spend a lot of time on a computer now from Covid screwing with our industry. If I can get another superintendent to do my computer stuff I’ll be there. I’ll work on it. (Unless you have WiFi or Sprint phone coverage so I can do remote uploads)

 

If anyone is from the SW PA area we are meeting Saturday at 1:00 at Helltown Brewing in Mt. Pleasant and going for an easy trail ride at 2:00
