That's what I heard about how addictive they are to get once you do your first one. I'm going to still hold off until I move outta the house. I like the fact that they have a meaning behind them.

I haven't really been on here in a while. Truth is, Im a little turned off by offroading for now. I am midway through building a sick race truck but seeing everything at that race really spun me off for a little bit. Me and my good friend mike got knocked down pretty bad. I ended up in ER for the night down in OC after getting driven home. Just a hyperextended neck and slipped disc. Im okay now. My prayers continue to go out to the families. I'll never forget everyones bodies flying in front of me. That was the last thing I remember before going unconscious for a little bit. Best wishes to everyone effected. I'll see you all out there again sometime.

Wow glad you are ok. I wouldn't let that completely turn you away. Take some time then get back into it. It's a passion. And just a freak accident happened.

yo Yuri... glad you are good now brotha... it was great seeing you just before it all went down, and thanks so much for calling the Engage camp to check on me... it was pretty chaotic in all that mess when y'all lost track of me...

i remember seeing you walk down to the spot just before it all went down, but just could NOT find anyone in all that mess...

i hear ya about getting turned off... i haven't wheeled since then and i usually wheeling every 2 to 3 weeks...

this weekend's Mojave run will certainly be an easy run for sure....

That's a really good article. I was right there when the accident happened, sitting on top of one of the jumbo rocks. There were a couple of weird dynamics I noted.

I got there late, maybe 4:00PM and it was really hot. I kept saying to my buddy how uncomfortable I was that everyone was so close to the track. I was even nervous where I was, 100'+ away. Also, because it was so hot, and late in the day by the time I got there, many people were quite intoxicated.

As the first few trucks went by, people would step back, only to step forward for the next truck.

Finally, the accident happened over the crest of a small hill. The drivers had no idea people were that close, and the spectators had no advance notice that things weren't right until it was too late.

I left probably 2 hours after the accident and there was just an endless stream for miles of emergency vehicles driving deep into the desert to get to the scene.

The whole thing has left indelible memories. I went to the memorial at the Pomona event, but unfortunately the inept fairgrounds staff took 2 hours to get a very small amount of traffic inside (frustrating) and I missed the service.

My heart goes out to all of the affected families, and Mr. Sloppy. These were all good people and this didn't need to happen.

    RZ Rob
