So. Just installed a Kenwood DDX795 using idatalink Maestro RR and T01 on my 2010 JBL stock stereo. Follow all the wiring instructions. Plug and play. Works great, love the transition!

But. I’m ocd about the sound and the tuning and am finding a couple odd things that hopefully someone can help with.

Subwoofer is seeming to blend in with the system and the Meastro is supposed to split the system accordingly. In the EQ, the subwoofer isn’t adjustable at all. Up and down has no affect.

Started messing a little more the crossover and noticed that whenever I change any settings for the front speakers, the subwoofer will change along with it. It’s like the two are combined together, but the sub seems to be smart enough to still use the Low pass while I change the high pass.

I don’t know, it’s weird like it’s working but it’s not adjustable like it should be. Only thing I can figure is on the back of the Kenwood, There’s 3 pairs of RCAs. Front, Rear, Sub. But the meastro only asks (with JBL amp) to use the front RCA. I’m wondering if I need to somehow separate the sub from a bundle and RCA it into the Kenwood.

Anybody have any experience or expertise on this? Or know where to start with the Subwoofer wires?

Give idatalinks tech support a call on Monday and see what they say. In the mean time you can swap the rca's from the front outputs to the sub outputs, to see how it sounds and if function properly.

One thing you could try is going into the Maestro RR settings on the Kenwood and resetting the module.

Definitely on my to do list for sure and that is not a bad idea either! Worth a shot!

Would this reset the flashing of the module?

No. It will clear your gauges back to default, but you won’t need to open the dash.

So, little update. Played with the settings a bit. Started thinking a bit on how the JBL may be working. With the confusion the system seems to be having with the crossover, we’re thibking the processor in the amp is already doing a preset crossover and then through the maestro and Kenwood we’re doing a double crossover. Once we put the crossover settings on the Kenwood at “through” and jacked with the EQ so the Bass doesn’t blow the front, rear and tweeter we have it working like it should and sounds amazing.

Would still like to be able to adjust the sub, so will definitely call idatalink and see what they know

My understanding is that you will have limited configurability as long as you keep the factory JBL amplifier.

That’s exactly what it’s seeming like. They should definitely make that more clear in the install. Will definitely update once I get a final word from idatalink

Yes, the sub is 100% controlled by the JBL amp. The amp gets a 2ch input from the radio (left & right) and it handles the sub and all crossovers as well as fade front/rear. Setting crossovers on your front/rear will affect the subwoofer because you’re limiting the signal getting to the amp. As stated above, you will have no subwoofer control while keeping the JBL amp.

That darn JBL amp just gets in the way of all the fun.

Anyone have a clue on the TO1 harness for the reverse camera? Have the instructions, but man, they are just awful... The RCA into the unit, cake. Then brings back to a split off with wires that says to connect to reverse camera harness. Anyone have any clue where that's located at?

After that, shows it goes to connect to another pin connector coming from the truck. Just want to make sure if anyone has tackled this on a 2010 with JBL and oem reverse camera before i start spliced into wires and lose functionality hah
